Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Given how many of her conversations that afternoon had turned to food, Sookie had found herself kind of homesick in spite of herself, especially after facing the prospect of eating what she found in the common room.

So, she took it upon herself to run out and grab some fresh ingredients, and returned back to the common room to boil some rice and throw everything moddable that she'd bought and found that looked good into the pot to make some jambalaya.

She'd taken a little more care and put together a berry cobbler, admittedly using frozen berries. Her gran had always said it tasted the same anyway, so long as you used enough butter.

She kept the TV on while she cooked and familiarized herself with the kitchen, and tried to adjust to the technology and appliances that were ten years ahead of her time. It was fairly easy to figure out, even if some of the commercials threw her for a loop.

"So how are you liking Fandom so far?"

Priestly shrugged. "It's pretty cool."

He was talking to a frog.

It might take him awhile to really adapt to this situation.

"Have you gotten all the usual warnings? Invasions, doubles, gremlins, stuff like that?"

"Jello dragons, his name is Dean, green and bitey. Got it."

"Oh yeah." Robin said. "You do look like Dean." He hadn't noticed at first because of the facial hair. And the mohawk of course.

"I like to think that he looks like me."

"That'll work." Robin laughed. "Me I've never gotten a double. I've never actually seen a gremlin either."

"So there's no other talking frogs around?"

"Not around here. Back home there's a lot of us."

"Okay. Uh. Where's home?"

"The Everglades in Florida. But I spend a lot of time in LA too."

Priestly kinda felt he should be surprised to find out LA had talking frogs. But he wasn't, really.

LA had freaking everything.

"Huh. I'm from Santa Cruz, myself."

"Is it nice there? Is that north or south of LA?"

"North. Near Frisco. And yeah, I like it."

"I've been to Frisco once." Robin said. "Is this your first time on the east coast?"

"Yep."

"Well I hope you enjoy yourself. There's a lots of cool places to go around this area."

"Yeah? We get to go off island often?"
