Super Bowl Party, 1st Floor Rec Room, Sunday Afternoon

Thanks to KKG and a little ingenuity, the first floor rec room was arranged for a Super Bowl Party. Black, yellow, red and white crepe paper hung from the walls, a good chunk of the seating in the dorms had been dragged into the room for the crowd, and a table was full of assorted snacks guaranteed to destroy arteries and waistlines alike.

Even if you just wanted to see the commercials, it would probably be a fun time.

"Steelers," Arthur repeated, slowly, "And Cardinals. Right. I'll remember that."

He probably wouldn't.

"So it's a civil competition?"

"For the most part," Angela replied with a shrug. "But you know, with all the testosterone flying around in games like this, it usually breaks out of that at some point. They wear the padding for a reason."

"So how big would you say the chance was," Arthur said, digesting that, "That they might break out into a fight?"

He hoped there would be swords.

"High to definite," Angela decided with a vague 'maybe, maybe not' handgesture. "But anything that does happen usually gets broken up pretty quickly."

"More interested in that than the sports?" she asked.

"Where I come from, sports tend to involve combat," he provided. "Hardly seems worth the bother otherwise."

"We have wrestling and boxing type sports too," Angela told him. "But in general, they discourage that sort of thing in all the other sports."

"That's a bit disappointing," he said, "Dueling competitions really test the mettle of a warrior. Strength, fortitude, ability. And they're good fun."

Arthur mostly thought this because he kept winning them.

Angela smirked. "I heard you tested some of that out on my roommate," she said. "He seemed less thrilled about all that when I saw him afterwards."

"Hannibal," Arthur said, "Needs to learn to pick battles he can actually win."

"I'm sure he's picking up on that," Angela replied. "Live and learn is supposed to be the way it goes."

"He's no lack of bravery," Arthur said, shrugging a bit, "It'll either come with time or it won't and it's hardly my problem."

Angela huffed a little laugh. "Mm, well, having said that. He hasn't learned how to avoid a killer hangover, so who knows."

"That's not my problem, either," he replied. He had had enough trouble getting rid of his own. "Except to let him know to look into less combative drinks."

"Only your problem in as much as you were out there drinking with him," she pointed out.

"Well, I won't let him order anything again," he promised. "Ever."

"Probably a wise move," Angela said, a little smirk on her face. "Or at least, only if you're sure it isn't something with an alcohol content that'll have you passing out by the end of the night."

"Your skill must vastly surpass his at it, by the sounds of it."

Angela laughed, "I don't know about that. I've had my fair share of nasty morning afters. Just not lately."

"Why, Angela," Arthur said, grinning, "That might imply you learned something."

"What can I say, quick learner," she said with a broad smile. That, and the nightlife here wasn't good enough to make it particularly worthwhile.

"I can only applaud that," he said, "Maybe next time I go drinking, I should bring you."

"Any time you're looking for a different side of the experience, I'd be happy to take you," she said.

"Very kind of you," Arthur replied, and gave her a bow of his head.

See? Chivalry wasn't so hard around some people. "I wish you good fun at the feast."

"And you too," Angela returned easily.
