Super Bowl Party, 1st Floor Rec Room, Sunday Afternoon

Thanks to KKG and a little ingenuity, the first floor rec room was arranged for a Super Bowl Party. Black, yellow, red and white crepe paper hung from the walls, a good chunk of the seating in the dorms had been dragged into the room for the crowd, and a table was full of assorted snacks guaranteed to destroy arteries and waistlines alike.

Even if you just wanted to see the commercials, it would probably be a fun time.

He wasn't joking, so so much for it being an innate trait. "Some guys just find it pretty to watch, and kind of ... exciting. Some girls find it pretty, and et cetera. And that's why I'm nervous and not sure I want to do this and oh god what if no one wants to kiss me?"

He quirked his head again, but for a different reason.

"Why wouldn't they? You're pretty, very sweet, and friendly enough. There's very little reason not to kiss you."

All matter-of-fact.

And cue more blushing. God, Liir was matter-of-fact. Amber was so lucky. "Uh, thank you? I just... I don't think I come across as... experienced." She smiled a little. "But maybe it won't matter, since it's mostly for fun?"

"I'd never even been kissed before I came here," he said with a shrug.

"Most of it seems to be to see what they're doing, don't get in the way, and sort of copy it. Even I picked it up, so it has to be relatively easy."

Dinah laughed, relieved. "I kissed my boyfriend before here, but there was only the one, and... yeah. With girls, at least they probably won't be pushy about it? Since we'd all hate that."

"Awww, no food?" Dinah grinned. "I guess we do have enough snacks for forever, though. What were you going to research?"

"Oh cool." Which, with Liir's home, meant it was probably pretty important. "I hope you find what you're looking for." She frowned. "What's the library like here, anyway? I haven't had to go there yet."

"I don't use the library. Just the books I have that were given to me by the Queen of the O.Z. Ozian magic is... a bit odd, honestly.

"But the library's nice enough. I used to go every week and bring lunch to my 'big brother'."

"Ohhhh. Hunh. I still want to see you on your broomstick." She grinned a little. "And who's your big brother? Mine is Jamie. The insane one."

"Whenever you ask," he pointed out, turning his hip to show the quiver that was secured there.

"I usually have it on me. As for my big brother, he's not here. Karal went back to where he came from."

Dinah grinned at it, stuck in its handy holder there, and said, "Some evening, I want to see you fly on it. And aww. A lot of people go home after a while, don't they? Not just graduate."

"Yeah. I was terrified for ages they'd just... kick me out. After all, it's not as if anyone sent me here. I just kind of showed up."

"But, they wouldn't do that, would they?" Dinah asked, surprised. "I mean, if they accepted you in... Are you on scholarship?" She looked thoughtful. "Alfred talked my sister into letting me go here, but he didn't warn me what it as like. Heh."

"I... honestly don't know. I just showed up and they had my name on file and had me set up for courses. It all just happened."

He shrugged.

"No one's come bothering me about it, though, and I've something of a savings since I don't spend that much. If it came up."

"Junior. Although I'm taking an extra class or two on-line to get caught up. This is my second school in a year." She tilted her head. "Were you home-schooled, back in Oz?"
