Dorm Pool, Tuesday Evening - PARTY

The day had flown by, and before she knew it, Hinata and Amber, who’d cut out of rehearsal early (small sacrifices), were down in the pool area and setting up the decorations for Turtle’s (hopefully) surprise birthday party. Streamers and balloons in gold, green, and purple matched the tablecloths, disposable plates and utensils. Colour co-ordination was a go.

It took them awhile to get things all set up, but eventually it was accomplished, and a sign at the door to the pool proclaimed ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY TURTLE!!!’ in, of course, green and gold glitter.

She went to shake his hand. "You a-as well," Hinata said, "I s-seem to be meeting quite a few people today."

Clearly, she was quite shy. He squeezed her hand, holding it a little longer than strictly necessary and gave her a warm smile. "Isn't that often the case with parties?"

She flushed a bit, gently extracting her hand with a smile. "True enough," Hinata conceded, "though I admit to not attending that many."

"You don't?" Leto asked, letting go of her hand.

"Too many people," she explained, "I w-would rather only a few at a time."

"As hostess," Hinata said, "n-nothing should distract me."

"I meant, distract you from all the people present," Leto clarified. "As a hostess, you only need to focus to a few at one time anyway, so distraction from the others would be a good thing." He reached out to lightly place his hands on her shoulders encouragingly.
