Dorm Pool, Tuesday Evening - PARTY

The day had flown by, and before she knew it, Hinata and Amber, who’d cut out of rehearsal early (small sacrifices), were down in the pool area and setting up the decorations for Turtle’s (hopefully) surprise birthday party. Streamers and balloons in gold, green, and purple matched the tablecloths, disposable plates and utensils. Colour co-ordination was a go.

It took them awhile to get things all set up, but eventually it was accomplished, and a sign at the door to the pool proclaimed ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY TURTLE!!!’ in, of course, green and gold glitter.

"Things have been good," she answered, nodding firmly. "Really good. Pretty sure I was still married, when I last spoke to you, and things have definitely been on the up since then."

"Have you been okay?"

Amber grinned. "I am so glad to hear that, Angela. Good for you. But yes, you and Hannibal were fighting and all that so I'm glad things are better."

She curled her lip a little. "Kind of not really, but I am having a great time tonight and that's what matters!"

"It's nice to have nights when you just don't think about the things that aren't going so well," Angela agreed, leaning back to let the water take most of her weight. "Parties should be time off from that sort of thing."

Honestly, Angela tried not to think about the bad things full stop. It was no wonder she was usually so chipper.

"Precisely my thinking," she agreed, leaning back as well to float upon the water. "This is a worry free party."

Same as Amber. Romeo had said he'd never seen her in a bad mood and she sort of prided herself on that. She could be ugly and brooding by herself.

"Mmm, yes it is," Angela said. "I'm going with relaxing and imagining it's summer and this is all outside in the sunshine."

"Just don't close your eyes," teased Amber.

"With this many people around?" she laughed. "That's a recipe for unexpected dunking."

"Uh-huh, especially with me right next to you," she laughed. Dunking people was her favorite thing to do.

"And now I know never to let you out of my sight," Angela decided, with a laugh of her own.

"Thanks for that little tip."

"I'm nice like that," she said, grinning. "But I'm also kind of sneaky too. Muwahahah!"

And yes, she was a dork.

Angela laughed, splashing some water Amber's way again. "Well, I can do sneaky too, so you better watch out," she said.

Amber flickered some back. "Oooh! I like sneaky, Angela!"

"That's because you haven't been subject of any of the blackmail resources I've picked up lately," she teased, grinning and dropping a little lower in the water.

"Blackmail resources?" she asked, tilting her head with a grin. "Wow. That sounds sneaky smart."

"More opportunistic," Angela admitted, shrugging. "And it was fun."

"Do tell?" she asked, her eyes on her.

"Let's just say, I woke up in bed with Chuck and Sam Winchester, and I have some photographs neither of them want getting out."

"No way!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide. "Ohhhh, to be you on that day! What I wouldn't give just to see the photos."

Angela raised her eyebrows mischievously. "Well, I did only promise not to blow them up and stick them around school," she said.

"Angela," Amber lowered her voice all conspiritorial like. "You know you're one of my best friends. I think you should totally share your special pictures with me."

"Drop by my room sometime, and I might be able to help you with that," she said, smirking broadly.

"Our little secret."

"Our little secret," she repeated, way too excited most likely to see these pictures.
