The Deck, early evening Thursday

Dinah had hamburgers and hot dogs, some veggie platters and chips and dip, soft drinks and cake. Oh, and ice cream in the fridge inside for later.

Happy birthday, Will Shakespeare! Oh, and her too.

[very limited OCD about to go up!, for early justice and time zones; set before Dress Rehearsal/Previews.

As if Tahiri was missing this? There was food, and classes were done, and it was a friend's birthday; all of that added up to a must-attend event in her book.

By the look of Ben's plate, it was possible he'd never eaten in his entire life.

Tahiri glanced over and sighed. "Well, at least it's not ice cream."

He looked around. "Is there ice cream?"

"If there is, I'm not letting you get it all over my face this time," Tahiri warned him playfully. "How are you not sick of it yet?"

"It's ice cream," Ben said. "There are a million different flavors."

Not that he explored much.

Tahiri stared at the mountain of food on Ben's plate some more. "Uh huh. And how far along are you in cataloguing them all? About four hundred thousand?"

His cheeks flushed. "Maybe?" he admitted.

"Are you going to have room for ice cream after you finish all that?" she asked. She was fairly sure he could, actually.

Tahiri drifted a few steps closer and mock-glared at him. Which she had to look up to do, of course. "As you love to keep reminding me."

"Finals are over with," Tahiri told him happily. "One less thing to worry about."

"No, we're partying because it's Dinah's birthday," Tahiri's occasional bratty streak compelled her to point out.

Hurley almost made a comment that might have gotten him force-pushed or something.

Instead, he just laughed. "Suuuure."

"Hey. I can't spend all my time that I'm not doing lightsaber drills or practicing by measuring the room and looking for patio furniture," Tahiri said, raising an eyebrow at him.
