Third floor common room, Monday evening

Knowing she was going to be taking another trip home, Jaina had spent most of her day handwavily prepping: flight sim, lightsaber drills (she remembered last time, thanks), and then was trying to catch up on reports in her room till her comlink finally began driving her crazy.

Knowing she was more or less going to be able to answer all those calls personally anyway, she took her datapad out to the common room to work, and after a couple minutes of silence turned on the TV for background noise.

So it was her own fault that she kept looking up surreptitiously from her work to see what was going on in the Space Battles movies. What? It was interesting.

"I like holos when things explode," Jaina explained. It was better than when they did for real.

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me," Zayne said.

"I need to work on being less predictable," she said. "So how are you?"

"I'm good. I don't know why I seem to have an extra spring in my step today," Zayne said. "It's probably just the semester being all over."

"All the people leaving at once makes the place seem less crowded too," she noted. "Easier to spring."

"That's true. I don't have to worry as much about where I spring to," Zayne said. "I just have to keep from hitting the walls."

"Let me know if you start doing that. I could use the laugh I'd get watching," she smirked.

"Fortunately, I don't think it's going to happen unless I get bit by a gremlin again," Zayne said. "And I've been watching for them."

"Yeah, that doesn't work," Jaina said. "Just to warn you. They find ways."

"I could wear armor?" Zayne suggested.

She tilted her head. "Might work, though it might also get very uncomfortable after a while."

"Sometimes training to be a Jedi means discomfort. This would just be an odd precursor to the Trials," Zayne said.

"Some people might consider constant gremlin bites to be something akin to the Trials."

"I'd like to think that it's actually possible to pass the Trials. I've never heard of someone beating a gremlin bite," Zayne pointed out.
