Third floor common room, Monday evening

Knowing she was going to be taking another trip home, Jaina had spent most of her day handwavily prepping: flight sim, lightsaber drills (she remembered last time, thanks), and then was trying to catch up on reports in her room till her comlink finally began driving her crazy.

Knowing she was more or less going to be able to answer all those calls personally anyway, she took her datapad out to the common room to work, and after a couple minutes of silence turned on the TV for background noise.

So it was her own fault that she kept looking up surreptitiously from her work to see what was going on in the Space Battles movies. What? It was interesting.

Hurley poked his head into the common room, then quickly went to settle in on a couch.

"I love these movies," he declared. They might help take his mind off people leaving.

"I don't think I've ever seen them," Jaina admitted. If she had, she didn't remember it, anyway. "I've heard of them before?"

"They're awesome," Hurley said. "I've seen 'em, like, a hundred times."

It was the sound effects that caught Tahiri's attention as she passed by.

". . . what are you watching?"

"Space Battles," Jaina said, simply pretending past awkwardness wasn't there right now. "The explosions are good for thinking."

Tahiri wasn't thinking about past awkwardness. "I kind of thought you'd be telling the TV that this doesn't actually work that way."

"One of the best movies ever," Hurley told his roomie.

"Why am I not surprised you think so?" Tahiri asked him.

There was a difference, Firekeeper decided, between being social with unfamiliar people and being social with familiar ones. Which is why she has no problem heading for the common room now that all the unfamiliar people are gone.

"Hello," she greeted the room, Blind Seer trailing behind her as usual. "What is?" she gestured at the screen.

"Pure awesome," Hurley declared. "Hey dude."

"Hello," Firekeeper blinked. "Dude," she echoed.

"Space Battles," said Jaina, looking over at her. "It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like."

Firekeeper flopped down on a couch and examined the screen with interest. "Am still not sure what to think of ships that fly," she admitted.

"Hey, Firekeeper!" Tahiri said, waving from where she'd perched herself on the arm of a chair. "What have you been doing, hiding out all weekend?"

Zayne walked into the common room and glanced at the television briefly. "What's this?" he asked.

"Awesomess movie-fied?" Hurley greeted.

"Can you be more specific?" Zayne asked.

"Ships in space," Firekeeper informed him. Which had been, coincidentally enough, the topic of the only conversation she could remember having with this boy.

"Well, that's familiar," Zayne said. "Is it any good?"

"I like holos when things explode," Jaina explained. It was better than when they did for real.

"Not very accurate, if you ask me," Tahiri said. "Hi, Zayne."

Jamie walked into the common room and sighed.

"Alas. No more common rooms for me. No more free food fixed by generous people. No more random porn showing up at the worst possible moments," he said. Wistfully. "Oh common room. I'll miss you so."

Jaina looked up at him, and guessed, "Senior?"
