Main Campfire, Friday Evening

Once the sun went down, a rather spectacularly large bonfire was lit for the party. No, Merlin was not aware it was now celebrated on the first of May. Calenders change, after all.

There was even a crudely constructed maypole there in case anyone felt the need to dance around it. They did so at their own peril, of course. The mockery that may ensue would probably be great.

"I don't think so," he said, shaking his head. "Am I wrong?"

"You must not remember the fire drill," she smirked. "Or the water." Why was she even going there?

"Mmm, I thought you were just humoring me," he said, shrugging. "Your hard to read."

"It was for the best." She-Ra paused, looking him over for a moment. "You know, Edward proposed to Adora the other day."

"Why was it for the best?" Maybe he just wanted her to share. Maybe he just--

--wait

"WHAT?"

"Was that a what as in you didn't hear so I need to repeat it or a what as in you are confused and need an explanation?" She-Ra wasn't good at deciphering these things.

"The what was for the proposal," he said, surprise still evident in his tone. "The other question was just curiosity."

He paused.

"What, marriage? MARRIAGE?"

"Indeed," she agreed. "I'm not sure what to say about it."

"You didn't give him an answer?" Hannibal asked.

"Oh, she answered him," She-Ra replied. "I'm just concerned." Oh gods, MPD.

"What are you concerned about?" Hannibal asked.

"Um, she's sixteen. Also, the leader of her people." This seemed normal to be concerned about.

"It's reassuring to hear that it's just regular stuff and not anything else," he said.

"You thought it was something irregular?" She-Ra questioned.

"Well, I hoped it wasn't because he didn't get down on one knee or something silly," he admitted. "Or because he was married to someone else."

"Oh Sorceress, no," She-Ra laughed. "But what do you do after a boy proposes and the girl suggests that's not the best course of action?"

"Well, uh, I don't know," Hannibal admitted. "I've never proposed. It depends on the boy too. If the boy likes the girl, he'll accept her decision."

"Let's hope it works that way," She-Ra said, unsure. "How are you finding the cabins, my friend?"

"I prefer my room," he said, shrugging, "but the cabins aren't bad."
