Main Campfire, Friday Evening

Once the sun went down, a rather spectacularly large bonfire was lit for the party. No, Merlin was not aware it was now celebrated on the first of May. Calenders change, after all.

There was even a crudely constructed maypole there in case anyone felt the need to dance around it. They did so at their own peril, of course. The mockery that may ensue would probably be great.

Jenny wants to know if this will be a proper old-fashioned Beltane celebration. Because Jenny is a slut.

Angela was two days into what was essentially a four day weekend, and feeling pretty good about that, strangely enough. Best way to continue her lazy couple of days?

Two nights of parties. Starting with this one.

Diana actually showed up. She had Samuel in her arms, and was trying to look at least half a shade less un-friendly than usual.

Karla sauntered over to the bonfire. After the lesson, she'd stayed to keep playing on the beach, and as the sun went down, she'd gotten a little chilly. Craft could have solved that, of course, but the fire let her be social, too.

At the fire was a male she hadn't yet met--though she thought he was in one or two of her classes. "Hi," she said. "I'm Karla. Are you the host of the Beltane party?"

Fiona had seen the signs, but she'd never really been to a party outside of the induction celebration a few weeks ago, so she mostly just sat by the fire as she would have any other night.

...all right, so perhaps she glared at the food tables a few times, but otherwise, it was pretty much normal.

A party was a party and it was a Friday night which just made it even more of a party. Hannibal wandered down, grabbed a drink and decided this was a good start to the weekend.

Seeing Angela, a familiar face, she gave a short wave.

Right! Refreshments! Karla called in a bottle of wine. "A gift for the host," she said formally. And then she grinned. "It's from the Dharo vineyards, and I'm assured its an excellent vintage. It came from my uncle's private stock."

Multiple bottles had been liberated from his collection over the past nine years. How odd.

Alex deduced it was either stay in his cabin and be bored or go out to this party thing and...who knows. So, he picked the latter and shambled out to the fire, taking up a spot on the edges and enjoying the warmth on his face.

"Heey, Fiona, right?" Angela hadn't met that many new kids, she could remember names.

It wasn't so much that Esme liked parties, but it couldn't hurt to learn about people's customs at things like this, and watch people in action. Besides, the food was free. She took a seat by the bonfire, staying just far enough away from people that it might look as if people were staying away from her on purpose.

They rprobably weren't, but it was all about appearances.

Someone could, but someone would only do that if someone had someone to frolic with. Hmmph.

"What's Beltane? Besides a reason to have a party," she amended.

No way was Brooke going to miss a party. It had been too long since they'd had one. She'd been going through withdrawal. So here she was with a glass of wine, enjoying the atmosphere.

Effy... wasn't so much eating s'mores as watching her marshmallows burn.

Because that's not weird at all.

Parties involving fires were always exciting in some way. He didn't know anything about the giant pole, but figured someone would probably be stripping by the end of the night so he took up a seat to watch.
