Main Campfire, Friday Evening

Once the sun went down, a rather spectacularly large bonfire was lit for the party. No, Merlin was not aware it was now celebrated on the first of May. Calenders change, after all.

There was even a crudely constructed maypole there in case anyone felt the need to dance around it. They did so at their own peril, of course. The mockery that may ensue would probably be great.

Ben smiled. "He turned into a giant ball of glitter yesterday. I wouldn't expect to see him for a bit."

There was a long, long pause.

"And I missed this," she noted, shaking her head in dismay.

And also thinking that she might need to actually visit her brother and not give him a hard time when he did.

"It was like he was attracting most of the glitter in the area," Ben said. "He wasn't pleased."

Understatement.

"No?" Valentine asked, shaking her head. "He really has changed. He used to be all about the glitter and shiny things when he was little..."

Ben was so very glad he wasn't drinking anything at the moment. "Seriously?"

Valentine just looked at Ben a moment.

Then she pointed upwards.

"Hey, Ben; someone wrote gullible up on the ceiling."

"There's no cei--oh," he said, blushing furiously.

Valentine just grinned, close to laughing but well able to keep it back.

"How's the rest of your week been?" she asked, graciously changing the subject.

"Good," he said. "I learned to walk on air today!"

"With or without gravity?" asked Valentine, because, really, it wasn't nearly as impressive if they were talking null-g here.

"With," Ben said. "I was on the beach. Going zero-g isn't all that impressive."

"I don't think so either," Valentine said, "but I thought I should check first. Congratulations. How was it?"

"Kind of weird," he admitted. "Falling I'm used to. Going up under my own power was really new."

"Falling you're used to?" Valentine asked, because the falling was much more interesting.

Ben nodded. "Sometimes Jedi get stuck on the top of buildings," he said. "So we jump off."

As you do.

"Sometimes?" Valentine asked. "Or often? If you're used to it, I mean."

"Well, the point of our operations is to not end up on the top of a building and have to leap off," Ben said, "but I've done it...more than sometimes but less than often?"

Valentine took a moment to make herself seem like she was calculating the exactness of such parameters a moment before nodding her head and settling on one. "So that's not so bad," she concluded.

Ben smiled. "I like to think so," he said. "It's not something I practice here--I figure leaping from a building might give a few people heart attacks."
