Third Floor Common Room [after classes]

Claudia needed room to stretch out as she worked on outfits for Zayne and Zack (those poor, poor souls), so the sofa was covered in orange and purple zebra print fabric which she was industriously running through the bedazzler.

The television was on too, but just as background noise.

"That's - really bright," Rose commented, staring at the fabric. Hopefully it wasn't for clothes.

"Isn't it great?" Claudia enthused. "I was going to use it for a minidress for me, but my roommate only wears bathrobes and that's just wrong."

"Yeah, that's wrong," Rose agreed. "How does she feel about orange?"

"He's never really said one way or another," Claudia selectively remembered. "He let me paint the room yellow, though, so I'm sure he'll love it."

"Hey Claudia!" Shilo had decided to stop reviewing her notes and go for a walk, but had turned around to see what the noise in the common room was. "That's... that's not your costume for Superhero Fashion, is it?"

"No, this is for Zayne!" Claudia said with a grin. "He'll be so excited."

Maybe.

Rose gave Shilo a wave. "Hey! How's dorm life treating you."

"Fairly well," Shilo replied. "I had a taste of my own private Fandom weirdness this weekend, but other than that, things are good. And you?"

"The alligators?" she asked. "Or the goldfish? I think both count."

Laptop tucked under her arm, Valentine moseyed on over the common room, thinking that it's been pretty convenient that the common room on her floor has seen some activity lately, as it made it easier to seem like she was being all social and everything. Seeing the sofa currently occupied with fabric, she curled up on a chair, tilting her head.

"Looks like quite a project."

Claudia nodded. "My roommate only wears bathrobes. It's a tragedy."

Valentine's eyebrows lifted. "That's for your roommate?"

"Yep. He'll love it."

Rose grinned at the comment. "I'm totally sure I'd never have patience for all the sparkly things."

"I might have the patience," Valentine mused, grinning back, "if all the sparkly things built up into a device to either destroy the world or save it, but I think as a fashion staple, it's a little bit overboard."

She gasped. "Fashion is at least as important as saving the world!" she teased. "How could you say something like that?"

Zayne walked into the common room, completely unaware of the horrors that lay inside.

"Good afternoon. What's going on?" Zayne asked, taking a moment to process the terrifying fabric.

"Omigod, Zayne!" Claudia said. "I'm working on your new outfit!"

"My... new outfit?" Zayne asked. He glanced at the bedazzler.

"I figured that the robe wouldn't go with your regular stuff, so I'm also making you some hot pants."

No need to thank her. Really.

Brooke was still in mope phase, on the hunt for some good ice cream (not that anything would be good enough), and so she was just planning on popping into the common room long enough to find them, then escape back to her room to play the avoidy game. It was-

"Oh dear god."

Someone had seen what was going on.
