With the move back to the dorms over, Alex had immediately headed out of his room (Griff needed to find his jacket soon or later) and down to the deck. It was true, he kind of really liked this place even if it was hot today. That just meant a t-shirt and shorts had to be worn instead of something heavier.

He took a seat, feet up on another seat and leaned back to catch some sun. Last day of the weekend was meant to be spent in the laziest way possible, right? Well, lazy if you couldn't be doing all those other fun active things. Maybe he'd do something like that later.

"Would you admit it if I did?" Rose asked, having a suspicion but honestly curious.

"Depends on how you did it," he allowed. Of course, if she riled him, it wouldn't be too hard to tell.

"Well, of course," Rose said, tossing her hair.

"You just haven't found my weak spot." And, if he was lucky, she never would find the ACTUAL weaknesses he had.

"You're so awesome you only have one,huh?" Rose teased, rolling her eyes. But, really, she talked to him because she enjoyed him. Not because she wanted to psychoanalyse his ass.

"Now, that would be telling, wouldn't it?" Alex replied, smirking. "Here's a hint, it's not anything to do with etiquette."

"Let me guess," she said, making a face. "It's knitting."

"Here's another hint," Alex said, barely restraining from making a face, "you're a shit guesser."

Rose bitchfaced at him. "Yeah, that was a totally serious guess, Alex."

He grinned in the face of that look, completely familiar with it now. "Not too hard to rile you up at all, is it? Food for thought."

She tossed her hair. "So what?"

"Did you hear me say there was anything wrong with it?" Didn't mean he didn't think there was but he tended to keep things carefully hidden unless he got angry. "Observation, Rose. I do have them."

"Never said you didn't," Rose retorted. "So what do these observation powers tell you?"

"That you're an easy target," he replied, leaning back. "And easily figured out."

"You have me completely figured out because of my hatred of etiquette, yes," Rose agreed. "It's crazy impressive."

"No, I have it figured out that you have a quick temper that's probably gotten you in trouble in the past," he said, making his observations now. As much as he put up the front, he wasn't a fool. "And you probably can't really control that either which means you accept the trouble."

Rose glanced over at him then cracked up. "Okay, fine."

Since she hadn't denied any of it, he took it as a sign that he was right. "Shouldn't doubt me. I'll surprise you."

He was right enough that she was pretty well impressed.

She shrugged though. "See, but I wasn't so much doubting you as you were showing off. Wanted to prove you were right."

"And?" He didn't see anything wrong with showing off. It padded his ego. "If I can prove I'm right, I'm going to."

"So how smart are you when you want to be?" Rose asked levelly.

"Smart enough." Which meant he wasn't outright answering that question. "I'm not stupid."

"I think you just repeated yourself there," she said innocently.

"Some people need it repeated," he replied pleasantly.
