deck | late afternoon | sunday | july 26

With the move back to the dorms over, Alex had immediately headed out of his room (Griff needed to find his jacket soon or later) and down to the deck. It was true, he kind of really liked this place even if it was hot today. That just meant a t-shirt and shorts had to be worn instead of something heavier.

He took a seat, feet up on another seat and leaned back to catch some sun. Last day of the weekend was meant to be spent in the laziest way possible, right? Well, lazy if you couldn't be doing all those other fun active things. Maybe he'd do something like that later.

[deck's oooopen!]

Rose had moved her stuff back to the dorms after training this morning, but she wasn't ready to go down to Fight Club yet. She headed out to the deck, planning on getting some sun when she realised someone had already gotten there.

"Claimed your spot already?" she asked, finding seat of her own and totally stealing part of the chair Alex's feet were on for her own feet.

"Ooh, do you have one of those cute little plaques with your name on it?" Rose asked sweetly.

Rose snorted. "So back out at the cabin then."

"Why should it?" Rose asked. "There was space right here to be stolen."

"That's just how I roll," Rose said, smirking, nudging his foot back.

"Missing out on seeing a lot of girls naked, Alex?" Rose pretended to sympathize. "Must be rough."

Rose laughed, catching up with his point. "It only took him a few minutes to remember how to talk too."

Valentine was heading back to her room with her second box of stuff. She didn't have much stuff, but she was dawdling, taking her time, not exactly feeling the need to get everything moved quickly. At the moment, in her arms, was a cardboard box, no lid, filled with books. It was a small box; anything bigger, she might not have been able to handle it because you never really realized how heavy books were until you were carrying a bunch of them at once.

Heavy or not, she had to pause a moment on the deck and grin.

"I swear," she said to Alex, "you should just put up a flag on this deck like you own it."

"You should definitely get a flag then," Valentine nodded. "Staking your claim with a flag has a very nice flair to it. It doesn't have to be an elaborate flag; in fact, that would sort of defeat the point of it being yours. You strike me as a minimalist flag kind of guy, Alex."

Can't imagine why.

"Oh, give me a nickel?" Valentine asked. "Like you gave me that nice friendship bracelet, too?"

"So your laziness is sparing me emotional and mental trauma," Valentine noted. "Very symbiotic, Alex. I didn't think you had it in you."

[identity profile] a-demosthenes.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
"You can make a friendship bracelet outside, too, you know."

Valentine quirked an eyebrow at Alex for a moment.

"Only if I can still psychotically pretend that you made it for me. Otherwise, it just defeats the whole purpose."
