roof | early evening | thursday | august 27
Alex was finding himself more attracted to the roof than the deck lately, which was a change from earlier in the summer. He couldn't really pinpoint why save for the fact that he liked smoking on the roof. Today was no different. He'd lit up as soon as he'd pushed onto the roof and was halfway done before he'd even sat down on the ledge.
Things felt slow lately, like they were moving in slow motion and it was making him itchy. He really didn't want to think of it as bad omens considering he still was trying to not think about that other Fandom but those thoughts crept in more likely than not.
He shook his head at himself and made his mind go blank. Easier to deal with.
[i'm bored and it's about to storm like hell. so, natch, this is open!]

There was an issue buried somewhere in there. If you looked hard enough.

And there was more there than she'd meant to say.

"Yeah, maybe that's why you got a message of platitudes," Rose snapped. "What's the point of telling you something you won't believe anyway?"

"Of course I've fucking met you," he snapped. "I just didn't know someone could put a collar around you, yank your chain and have you turn tail and fucking run like that."
He knew nothing. Nothing at all.

"Does it matter?" she asked, tossing her head. "Why would you care anyway?"
Fine. If that was how it was going to be, whatever.

"Or what?" he asked, throwing out the only retort he really had that wasn't admitting why he was pissed. "You'll make it up for me?"
Wouldn't be the first time that had happened to him.

The anger dropped for a minute, replaced with sudden fear that she'd seen things he'd been trying to keep hidden. It wasn't like Emma who'd told him up front so he could bury things.
