Fifth Floor Common Room [evening]

Sookie was sort of surprised by the very sticky rain, and that in and of itself was a mark of how long she'd been there.

And after a day spent indoors reading, she decided to do something smart about the rain. And so she wandered out to her common room, found it empty, and took to carefully positioning some buckets to hang out the windows.

Sookie, meanwhile, set to work mixing up some pancake batter. And, of course, frying up some bacon and eggs. It wasn't really breakfast-for-supper unless you had all the components.

"Which is probably a good thing!" Bobby said. "I mean, we'd probably get tired of it pretty quick and the constant showering would be heck on the water bill and all," not to mention that Bobby and sugar were often a dangerous combination. As evidenced by the slight bouncing that punctuated his words.

Yeah, Sookie'd noticed that. "How much have you had, Bobby?"

"Um," Bobby blinked. "I wasn't exactly keeping track, but did you know you can kind of make syrup into a candy sorta thing if you add ice? Because I didn't. But now I do. Because I did." A lot.

"...I didn't know that," she said, wide-eyed. "Wow. Is there any left?"

"Of course!" he grinned at her. "And it's not like I can't just make more. Wanna try?" He held out a piece in Sookie's direction.

Sookie reached for it consideringly. "I've only ever had syrup on pancakes! I didn't know it could be other stuff!"

"Me neither. But I was like, maybe I could make a syrup-flavored snowcone?" Bobby told her. "This is way better though."

"...could you?" she asked, wide-eyed. "I mean, what if I had some kind of other flavors? Could you make snowcones on the spot?"

His powers were so much better.

"Uh huh," he grinned. "One of the first things I figured out how to do, really." Because what was the point of totally sweet ice powers if you couldn't have fun with them.

"You must be a ball in the winter," she noted, trying the candy.

"I'll have you know I am fun all the time," Bobby proclaimed dramatically.

"You sure 'bout that?" she teased, trying to keep her face straight.

"I took a survey," he said with a nod. "Very scientific."

"You clearly didn't ask everyone," Sookie pointed out, raising an eyebrow.

"I used a representative sample," he argued. Except for where he hadn't actually asked anyone whatsoever.

"Well, then there're outliers who you should've considered," Sookie told him, tsking.

"Very well then," Bobby proclaimed, miming pulling out a notepad and a pencil. "Ms. Stackhouse, would you be interested in participating in a short survey?"

"Now that you've deigned to ask," she said thoughtfully, nodding.

"To the best of your recollection, have you ever not had fun while conversing with one Bobby L. Drake?" he asked. Yes, he used his middle initial but still referred to himself by his nickname. It's a thing.

Sookie had to think for a long moment. "What's the L stand for?"

"...Louis," he admitted with a sigh.

"Honey, my name's Sookie. There's no shame in Louis," she assured him.

"It's just not me," he wrinkled his nose at her. "I'm not a Louis-y sort of person. And you're dodging the question!"

"I'm just reassuring you," she said sweetly. And still avoiding the question.

"Riiiight," he tapped the invisible pencil against the invisible paper. "We'd better continue before the, uh... validity of the test is compromised."
