Fifth Floor Common Room [evening]

Sookie was sort of surprised by the very sticky rain, and that in and of itself was a mark of how long she'd been there.

And after a day spent indoors reading, she decided to do something smart about the rain. And so she wandered out to her common room, found it empty, and took to carefully positioning some buckets to hang out the windows.

Sookie, meanwhile, set to work mixing up some pancake batter. And, of course, frying up some bacon and eggs. It wasn't really breakfast-for-supper unless you had all the components.

It's really no surprise that the smell of food brought Bobby wandering in. Still nibbling on a piece of maple taffy, yes.

"I'm beginning to think we actually can't be in the same room together unless there's food involved," he joked.

"I think it might be a rule," Sookie agreed thoughtfully as she stirred. "But today we have an excuse! Ain't every day it rains syrup!"

"Which is probably a good thing!" Bobby said. "I mean, we'd probably get tired of it pretty quick and the constant showering would be heck on the water bill and all," not to mention that Bobby and sugar were often a dangerous combination. As evidenced by the slight bouncing that punctuated his words.

After being out in it twice the smell of syrup was starting to be a bit overwhelming, but Rose was too antsy to hang out in her room so she followed her nose a floor up.

"Taking advantage of the natural, um, resources?" she asked, grinning at the buckets hanging out of the window.

"Rose! Who I haven't seen since... this morning, actually."

"Waste not, want not, and all that," Sookie said, grinning over at the other girl. "I mean, it doesn't rain syrup every day! Why not use it?"

"Isn't it a bit late for breakfast?" Ino asked, amused and poking her head in the doorway.

So sue her, a room only a few doors down meant she could smell it all, and it was making her hungry.

"There's a whole restaurant chain based on the idea that people might want breakfast at really weird hours," Bobby informed her. "Plus, there's bacon and I can't say no to that."

"Only if you're just waking up," Sookie told her, grinning.

"Pretend like you're nocturnal," Rose said lightly. "Then it's the perfect time."

Turtle didn't have radio tonight, thanks to auditions, though she did have SP until tomorrow, so she was taking advantage of it by coming down to the common room and plopping into a chair.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" she said, sighing happily as her head tilted back and she relaxed.

But with the deep breath, she caught a whiff of what was cooking and her head lifted.

"Ooh, pancakes? And bacon?"

God, she loved bacon.

"And eggs, too," Sookie said, giggling at that reaction. "You're welcome to it, if you'd like!"

"Hey Turtle," Rose said, giving her a little wave. "I hear you're taking over the school this year?"

"Turtle!" Bobby waved. "I think Sookie's making enough to feed an army. Or at least a common-room-ful."

"It's thematic, apparently," Ino called, looking up. "Matches our weather, definitely."

"I'm sticky," Jason announced as he walked into the common area.

Yeah, that was his greeting.

Ino laughed.

"Congratulations?" she teased. "Guessing you went outside?"

In which case, really, Ino felt that he deserved it.

Rose chuckled as she glanced over at him. Mmm, pretty. "Showers'll do you a world of good for that."

"Please, please tell me it's from the rain," Sookie pleaded.

"Hi Jason!" Bobby said, trying for totally casual and not at all omgyouofferedtoshowmepicturesofnakedwomen.

Kennedy hadn't been about to go out in that sticky mess. For one, hell no, and for two, it was still a little disconcerting to realize that there was weirdness that could still throw her. Demons, okay. Magic being real, that one she was still working on. Maple syrup from the sky? Totally off the scale.

She'd finished off a nice session in the gym by heading back to the dorms and running the stairs a few times, and the bacon scent she'd caught on her trips was enough to draw her back up to the fifth floor after a shower.

"Big sister making breakfast for dinner? Someone might say you're a bad influence." She smirked. "Like I care if they do."

"A girl after my own heart," Bobby greeted with a grin. "Hey."

"They'd be awfully boring," Ino commented idly, glancing over. "If they thought breakfast at night was a bad influence."

"I'm an opportunist!" Sookie argued, grinning. "Life gives you syrup, you make pancakes."

"Bad influences are the best kind," Rose said with a grin. "Hey Kennedy."
