Fifth Floor Common Room [Saturday morning]

Sookie was a little surprised this morning -- obviously, since the future-children had been to visit already, it wasn't going to happen again. But when she had woken up still seventeen (still prom queen!) and found Bobby decidedly...smaller, and younger by about ten years, she could've been knocked over by a feather.

That being said, it hadn't taken long for her to realize the only course of action. And so Sookie, in her pajamas (and Bobby, somehow in little-boy pajamas that featured penguins driving racecars) padded out to the common room to start making pancakes. Somewhere along the way, she'd added a few healthier foods to her plan, too, and had turned on some cartoons, but pancakes were definitely the endgame here.

It had worked for the other little kids, after all.

[COMMON ROOM IS OPEN YAY WEETINIES OMG]

"There is no court," Faramir frowned at her. "There has been no King in a long time. My Father rules Gondor until he passes his rule to Boromir or until the Kind returns."

"But what's a king?" Karla persisted. "Stewards serve Queens!"

Look, she'd dumped ink all over her mother's Steward's clothing just a few days ago! She knew what she was talking about!

"Does not," Faramir argued. "The queen is the King's wife, and the Steward serves the King. Women can not rule."

And there was Karla's wee little jaw, practically on the ground. "What're talkin' about?" she asked. "That's not true a'tall! Females rule; males serve an' protect! That's the rule!"

"Ruling is serving an protecting," Faramir pointed out. "And there has never before been a woman who rules. Why should it be different now?"

"Nuh-unh," Karla said, with the full weight of Protocol behind her. "Females has always been the rulers, ever since the time of the Great Dragons. I'mma Queen an' my Mommy's a Queen, an' the rulers of Dharo an' Scelt an' everywhere else is a Queen. That's how it is in every Territory in every Realm!"

"Not in Middle-earth," Faramir said with finality, because he knew the story of how the last dragon was slain and there had been no queen there.

"What Territory is that in?" Karla asked. Because someone needed to go there and tell them they were doing it wrong.

[ That's probably your best bet. LJ is filled with fail!]

She was receiving a very weird look by now. "Arda is the name of our world," he told her. "What territory are you speaking of?"

"Alla them," Karla said, very solemn. "All the Territories in Realm Kaeleer follow this rule. It's been that way for like...a millionty years!"
