Fifth Floor Common Room [Saturday morning]

Sookie was a little surprised this morning -- obviously, since the future-children had been to visit already, it wasn't going to happen again. But when she had woken up still seventeen (still prom queen!) and found Bobby decidedly...smaller, and younger by about ten years, she could've been knocked over by a feather.

That being said, it hadn't taken long for her to realize the only course of action. And so Sookie, in her pajamas (and Bobby, somehow in little-boy pajamas that featured penguins driving racecars) padded out to the common room to start making pancakes. Somewhere along the way, she'd added a few healthier foods to her plan, too, and had turned on some cartoons, but pancakes were definitely the endgame here.

It had worked for the other little kids, after all.

"Hmmm." Sookie studied him as she started putting together the batter. "I think I have one thing I can have you do. Do you think you can manage it? I need someone really, really strong for this job."

"...you have weird pajamas." PENGUINS WERE WEIRD, BOBBY.

Jonothon was hungry. He was hungry, and all he had in his room was a stupid crown (that he was going to wear because being the king was awesome) and a cat.

And he couldn't eat either, because both of them were pointy and kitties probably didn't taste very good. But that wasn't going to stop him from making his way around the dorms in search of food, with the crown sitting very crookedly on his head so that it didn't fall down over his face, and a very squirmy cat in his arms.

"I smell food," he announced. Because that was just what you said when you were hungry and thought that manners were dumb.

"I bet you do," Sookie said, already setting to work putting together a plate of pancakes for him. The crown was a bit of a tip-off, though the absence of his usual accoutrements threw her for a second. The accent helped, though. "Would you like some, Jono? What do you say, first?"

That's right. Sookie's enforcing manners. Again.

"Sookie's makin' pancakes and I got to stir and they're gonna be the best pancakes," Bobby informed Jono all in a rush. Jono... could probably see the evidence of Bobby's 'help' in a few stray splatters around the room.

Raven couldn't not come over to see Jono. And yes, she was going to sneak pictures with her phone.

"Hello, Jono," she said, crouching down to be at a level with him. "How are you this morning?"

The next child to stroll into the common room was a pretty well-dressed 7-year-old. Jeremy was in his 'I wanna dress like daddy!" phase, and he knew he wouldn't be served by the Darling kitchen staff here, so he'd felt like changing out of his space-pattern pyjamas and was now sporting a dress shirt and red suspenders with his dark pants.

There was nothing refined about the look of glee on his face when he spotted what was going on in the kitchen area. "Oh my gosh, are there pancakes?"

"There certainly are!" Sookie said, waving her spatula at the little boy. This one, now, she wasn't sure she recognized right off the bat, but that was fine. She'd figure it out. "And bacon. And fruit!"

She was sort of hoping someone would want the fruit, too.

There was clearly something about a girl cooking pancakes that acted as a siren call to small boys, because yet another one was here to try and get in on that action. Chuck wandered over and hopped onto his tiptoes to peer over the table to see what she was doing.

"What're you makin'?"

"Pancakes," she said, smiling over at him. "Would you like some, too? They have chocolate chips. And there's bacon. And apples!"

No one was going to eat the fruit, Sookie.

And there was another seven-year-old who had followed the smell upstairs. Ender was all military poise, though, and he walked into the room with quiet confidence. "You're cooking for us?"

"I am cooking for people who would like pancakes and bacon, and who say please," Sookie assured him with a smile. "So, maybe."

"Hi, Ender!" Yes, you got a double wave, Ender. One of which included a multi-tool that no one thought to take away from Tony.

"Hi!" Tony was already making a beeline for the TV, only to be disappointed that it wasn't cool enough to warrant taking apart. He had priorities.

"Hello," Sookie said, watching him race through. "Are you going to change the channel? I don't mind."

Even if the hazel eyes and slightly touseled ringlets hadn't been a giveaway of who this usually was, the very old-fashioned white dress and pinafore on a decidedly chubbier frame than usual probably would.

And the lisp.

"Thookie? Are thothe pancakeths?"

Wee Rilla had arrived for breakfast.

Oh, goodness. Little Rilla. Pretty much the cutest thing ever, yes. "They are, Rilla," she assured her, putting together a plate. "With chocolate chips. Would you like some?"

Too many boys. Boys were okay sometimes but girls were better. So Dana said hi to one of the few who were there, who looked maybe littler than she did. "Hello. I'm Dana 'n I'm five. How old are you?"

The smell of breakfast had drawn Jason out of his room, still in his green, red, and yellow striped pajamas. But when he saw so many kids in the common room, he hesitated in the doorway and looked around. If all the pancakes had been spoken for already, he was going to be very pouty.

"Come on in, sweetheart," Sookie called out. "There's pancakes, if you want 'em!"

"I want to help! I want to help!" One weetiny Karla reporting for duty!

...Assuming 'ruining everyone's breakfast' was now some kind of duty.

"Me! Me! Me! I help inna kitchens alla time back home!"

She did!

By scrubbing dishes when she was bad. But those were helpful details she was omitting.

There was a lot of noise coming from the dorm room, and Faramir was not used seeing this many other children together. The smell of food, however, was enough to make Faramir slip inside the door, a little wide eyed at everything going on.

A much chubbier than usual Rilla helped her dolly to wave a little jauntily at Faramir. "Hello," she said.

The excitement of the previous night, along with the trip to Sookie's world and the lack of sleep there, had made Raven sleep very late that morning. Unaware of her fellow students' transformations, she wandered into the common room to seek out breakfast and came to a halt, staring at Sookie. "Did the children come back?" she said. "Are these all yours?"

"Not quite," Sookie said, shaking her head and smiling. "These are our classmates. Want some pancakes? Bobby helped make them and he is very proud of it."

Dana was exploring. And starving. And dragging a small stuffed cat behind her by its tail, stopping in the doorway to examine everyone, then making a beeline to where there was food in the offing.

"Good morning. Can I please have some pancakes? Please?" She could do manners very well when she wanted to. Then grinned. "Pleeeeease."
