Halloween Mixer - 6th Floor, Monday After Classes

When people arrived for the party, the sixth floor was decked out with what appeared to be half of a party store. Like Halloween got sick all over the place. With glitter. You couldn't have Halloween without an inordinate amount of glitter, right? It was high school, this was a law.

If you ignored that, the rest of the place was set up for people to be able to hang out and get to know each other. Or continue to know each other.

Whichever worked for the guests.

There were pumpkins for carving as well if people were so inclined toward handling sharp knives while socializing.

Since it was a fraternity event, Ben felt that his costume of a giant slice of pizza was only appropriate.

After a few minutes of frustration trying to carve a pumpkin with a knife, he was seriously considering heading down to the weapons locker to pick up his vibroblade. Or a lightsber. That wouldn't end badly, right?

Rilla still didn't think Jims was all that adorable, but she had to admit he looked kind of cute in his wee dragon costume (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91T6udh6tkL._SL1500_.jpg), which went well with her fairy princess (http://www.costumesupercenter.com/womens+costumes-princess/56031-deluxe-queen-arwen-adult-costume.html) costume.

Please don't get Rilla started on how long it took her to find a costume that covered her knees. Please, please don't.

Jack, for once, was totally in the spirit of things. Possibly because tonight involved lots of junk food.

He even got dressed up in costume!

As a sheriff. A very authentic looking sheriff outfit.

Ender... was not really a Halloween kind of guy, per se, but he did believe in participating - to at least pretend to be part of the community, if not more than that.

But he wasn't going to stoop to costumes that were too silly; his steampunk outfit was fairly civilised and normal.

Compared to Ben, anyway.

Still, it was a social event, so Peter guessed he should make an appearance. Which he did, dressed in... a bowling shirt, normal pants and shoes, and a bit of smug cheerful.

Natalie hadn't made much of an effort to dress up. She was wearing a small black domino mask and had opted for an all-black outfit, but that was it.

She didn't intend to stick around for long, but at least she'd shown up, right?

Topher was in a decent mood today. Yes, he'd had to touch bras yesterday, but Ramona actually hadn't been that horrible to him overall. Plus, he'd finally gotten Dave to settle on a design for the door, and he was actually proud of it.

And he had the coolest meta for Space Battles costume in the world, complete with a meta for fake lightsaber. So. There was that.

Annie kind of loved Halloween. There was just something about getting dressed up and telling scary stories with MASSIVE, MASSIVE GORE WTF ANNIE that she loved. So she was here in her skeleton costume, and considering a pumpkin.

Please no one let her near a pumpkin.

Marshall's costume (http://img.costumecraze.com/images/vendors/rubies/889079-Adult-Deluxe-Mad-Scientist-Costume-large.jpg) was, perhaps, predictable -- but at least it was a little more than just a white labcoat and some hair gel, right?

And of course he was trying the pumpkin carving: it's just that his carving was a picture of a caffeine molecule.

Tara wasn't inclined toward doing anything with knives, but she was at the mixer in a fairly basic costume: black long-sleeve top, black fitted jeans, and a large set of monarch butterfly wings, plus a headband with antennae on it. She smiled a bit as she scoped out the room.

Quinn's Kim Kardiashian costume was a little awkward to move in maybe, but she liked it. She got the the mixer a bit fashionably late, and picked out a handful of candy corn to munch on while she mingled.

Bruce wasn't a member of any of the sponsor clubs, but that wasn't going to stop him from showing up to a party where he figured he should probably make an appearance. And if anyone wanted to call him out on that, he was in a costume and might be hard to identify. Actually, it was a faithful recreation of the Gray Ghost's costume from the TV show that aired when he was a kid, with a hat, mask, and cape over a gray suit. He had everything but smoke for his entrance, which he could have managed if he wanted.

Yes, Bruce had planned ahead just in case people turned into their costume again.

Rinoa wasn't actually a member of the sorority, but she assumed it was okay for outsiders to crash. Besides, she had a costume, and that was what was important, right? She wandered through the crowd, looking for people to chat to. Especially if they had fun costumes. Or if they didn't, and she could berate them for not dressing up.

Dave knew that there might be repercussions for the door competition. That was why he pre-apologized on the door, and why he was ready to accept any trouble here at the party. The fact that he was dressed as a Wild West gunfighter may have been accidentally provocative in that it might encourage confrontation, but he didn't put that much thought into itt.

Some part of George couldn't believe that she'd let Petra talk her into this. Except that was an excuse. She had sort of wanted to do this. She just didn't have the balls without Petra talking her into it. It gave her someone to blame if she felt like an idiot later.

She'd gotten a fedora, a leather jacket, a leather pouch, khaki pants, and yes, even a weird-looking idol at an antique store. George was Actually Participating. Someone might want to take her temperature.

Rosella had been looking forward to this day ever since coming to Fandom High! It wasn't as though Halloween was a very big thing in Daventry; as a matter of fact, in a land where the dead are known to terrorize people quite a bit, it could be rather horrific. However, she knew Halloween was different here in this world, and she'd remembered all of Alexander's tales of turning into a vampire, since that was his costume, and she eagerly hoped the same thing would happen to her.

Although, really, when you were dressed as a knight (http://www.motive-arts.com/images/Female_Knight.jpg), you practically already were one, but Rosella was hoping that the same magic would make her some great known hero, probably male, and she'd have all sorts of fun trying to slay dragons and save damsels in distress.

As of now, though, it appeared she was still herself, but she was still having fun.

The last time Simon had worn this superhero costume... Well, some of it had been great, and some of it had been awful, and right now he was hoping to just have a bit of fun without anything extreme like last time.

The candy made that look like an obtainable goal. He was giving the punch slightly dubious looks, though.

There was a section of the room cleared for people to dance if they wanted to. The music collection ran spooky as it was Halloween, but oh so modable.

Quinn's plan had been a Kate Middleton costume, but she checked TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2011/10/31/kim-kardashian-divorce-kris-humphries-files/#.Tq7kGLKwV6Q) before coming to the party and made a couple quick alterations. She'd put together a "wedding dress" out of a strapless top and a couple of yards of cheap satin, her skin was bad-spray-tan orange, and she'd put a necklace over her forehead and black wig before topping the whole thing off with a veil. She was also wearing an enormous fake engagement ring on her right hand and carrying a piece of paper that said DIVORCE DECREE at the top.

It was nice when you could do a timely costume.
