Fifth Floor Common Room, ALL DAY (and Night) [Wednesday]

Having a single now was nice, since it meant Minako didn't have to try being tidy around another person, but it got really lonely really fast.

Hence the fact she'd taken over the common room, making a HUGE bowl of punch and setting out chips, boxes of pop, and (store-bought) cookies before digging around in the closet to find the mats to hook up DDR on the ~~meta for~~ XBox.

"Sweet!" she cheered, as she held up the guitar for a different game. "You can be later. Gotta warm up before rocking out!"

"Happy Wednesday," Sparkle speculated, shooting Karina a cheeky grin. "Or maybe, 'we survived another fucked-up weekend, might as well throw a party?' Or maybe Minako just likes sharing."

Sparkle was totally okay with Minako sharing. He was so hovering near the potato chips.

Yeah, Karina wasn't complaining about the sharing thing either.

"Maybe she does," she said agreeably. "Or maybe it is an evil ploy to get people to vote for her for StuCo."

The glittery posters on the walls were kind of leading her to think that way...

"Maaaaybe," Sparkle agreed, eyeing the posters, and then shrugging. "If that's the case, I've got to step up my game. Say 'Vote for Sparkle' a few more times on the radio or something."

Yes. That would do the trick.

"I don't think that's going to do much versus a party," she pointed out.

Karina grinned at him, her voice taking on a challenging note as she said, "But, I guess, if that's the best you can do..."

"Oh, come on! That's the tip of the iceberg," Sparkle declared. "I can do way better than this!"

... He had no idea how. But he was pretty sure he could come up with something.

"How weird would it be if I hired that one teacher on to give pony rides?"

He was joking. Hopefully.

"... Don't do that," she said, shuddering. "Just... don't."

Her ability to pretend Fandom was normal only went so far, Sparkle.

"But, other than the pony, I'm totally daring you to prove you can do better."

"Uuuugh," Sparkle groaned. "You had to make it a dare, didn't you?"

So, now he was stuck for it. Mostly he'd just thrown his name into the running just to see if anyone would be stupid enough to vote for him.

"Well, okay. No pony. But something. I'll figure out something."

...

"Somehow."

She grinned at him, reaching over to snag a potato chip from the table.

"Oh, come on, it'll be fun!"

For her! Because all she had to do was watch and laugh. Karina was an excellent friend!

"Yeah?" Sparkle smiled at her maybe a little too sweetly. "Then I bet you'd love to help me with my campaign!"

For the fun, Karina!

"Pfffft no," she said, laughing. "Like I would!"

Well, points for honesty?

"Laaaaaame."

So lame! Sparkle was laughing, anyway, shaking his head.

"You're just gonna sit back with popcorn and watch, then? Really?"

"Let me think about that," she teased, tapping one finger to her cheek. "Yes! Unless there's something sufficiently interesting for me to do. I mean, I could be persuaded."

"Well, then I'm going to have to get persuasive, aren't I?" Sparkle looked thoughtful for a moment, himself. "Oh, I'll come up with something. Just you wait."

He had no goddamn clue where to start.

She grinned at him.

"I look forward to your efforts." Because whether they worked or not, Karina was going to assume they'd be amusing.
