Fifth Floor Common Room, ALL DAY (and Night) [Wednesday]

Having a single now was nice, since it meant Minako didn't have to try being tidy around another person, but it got really lonely really fast.

Hence the fact she'd taken over the common room, making a HUGE bowl of punch and setting out chips, boxes of pop, and (store-bought) cookies before digging around in the closet to find the mats to hook up DDR on the meta for XBox.

"Sweet!" she cheered, as she held up the guitar for a different game. "You can be later. Gotta warm up before rocking out!"

Oh, Alana! Sparkle gave his hands a clap, and then bounced in place a little.

"Sparklers," he shared. "You don't have sparklers where you're from? These little sticks and you light up one end and they throw off sparks - I was named after one - and usually I have some on me-- Ah!"

Yes. Yes he had just been patting down his own behind. And now he was producing a handful of sparklers and a lighter from his ass pocket. Because that was how he rolled.

"We have sparklers at home," Alana laughed, reaching her hand out for one if Sparkle was willing to hand it over. His delight was infectious. "Seriously, that's what you're named for? I thought it was one of those word names. Like Daisy or Hope."

"Yeah," Sparkle replied, passing one over and then flicking on the lighter. "Like, I was born and apparently someone lit one of these in the delivery room, and 'Oh, there's a name!' and I've been stuck with it since."

A beat.

"I like it. It's fucked-up, but it's me."

Which was a pretty apt description of Sparkle himself, really.

"It's fucked-up, but you get a cool story out of it," Alana said, not quite envious. "I mean, my name is fine, but it's not, like ...."

She twirled the sparkler through the air. (Fire risk, what fire risk?)

"There is nothing that interesting about the name Alana."

"It's normal," Sparkle observed. "Normal's not bad, either. It means you get to fly under the radar. You can get away with shit a lot easier if you're a Bob instead of a Moon Unit."

"That's true, yeah," Alana agreed. "Nobody assumes you're a certain way if your name is Alana or Bob. You can't get away with that if your parents stuck you with Sparkle."
