Second Floor Common Room, Monday After Classes

There were two reasons for the party being organized in the second floor common room tonight. The official one was that Sparkle and Alana were both campaigning for seats on the Student Council and needed to get their names out there.

The less official one was that Minako's fifth floor party the week before had been amazing, and the hosts wanted to prove other floors could host something just about as awesome.

Other than the VOTE FOR ALANA and VOTE FOR SPARKLE posters taped to the walls, the set-up was standard for a dorm party. They'd filled a table with pizza and snacks (including, at Sparkle's insistence, homemade sparkler-topped cupcakes), and Alana had set up her tablet to play a mix of trancey pop music. The electronica battled for ear space with an intentionally campy sci-fi movie playing on the TV.

Everyone in the student body had gotten an emailed invitation, so now it was just a matter of seeing who would show up.

Oh, hello. Sparkle was pretty sure this guy wasn't able to vote senior, but that wasn't stopping him from walking up to him with a cupcake all the same.

"Hey," he said, holding the cupcake out to him. "Welcome to the party."

Hot stuff.

"Hey, thanks," Johnny said. "So you're running for Student Council, too? I have to warn you, my vote has already been pretty well bought."

"Oh, I'm not too worried about that," Sparkle replied. "Minako threw one hell of a party last week, I'm just trying to let people know I'm here too, and the second floor was starting to feel left out. But, you know... there's a shitload of cupcakes, and I can't eat 'em all myself."

He would give it his best attempt, though.

"Figured I'd introduce myself anyway. Can't hurt to get to know the student body these days, can it?"

"Johnny Storm," Johnny said, holding his cupcake less hand out to shake. "You're the guy who got Kathy to ask me to go shirtless at that party, right?"

"Yeah, busted," Sparkle laughed, reaching to shake Johnny's hand. "I'm Sparkle - really - and there had been an important game of Uno going that turned into truth or dare, on account of Kathy being absolutely scandalized when I suggested we make it strip Uno, instead."

He spread his hands, like, 'what are you gonna do?'

"I really don't think she was complaining after the shirt came off, though."

Neither was Sparkle.

"Yeah, she's kind of adorably innocent in the best possible way, but if I can help her become just a little more worldly with the power of my abs and dance, well, I think it's a job worth doing," Johnny said.

"She's tiny and syrupy-sweet and needs all the encouragement she can get in order to blossom into the shameless young woman I know she can be," Sparkle decided, smirking. "Maybe you'll get drafted into shirtless dancing duty more often, since now I know you understand how important it is."

They were just looking out for Kathy's well-being!
