So...coed slumber party! Kathy had finally decided to stop stressing over it and just throw the stupid party. Sure, A Sunday was a weird time for a slumber party, but since it was the start of break week, she figured it could work. So her morning was spent hanging up ~~handwavy~~ posters advising everyone in the dorms that there would be a party that night, and her afternoon was busy with party prep.

Not that there was a whole lot of setup required. It wasn't a birthday party or anything, so Kathy had skipped out on balloons and streamers and stuff like that. Mostly she just made sure that the common room was clean, that there was a Rock Band and a karaoke setup available, and plenty of places for people to sleep when the 'slumber' part of the slumber party happened. If it happened. She didn't really know what to expect.

Okay, so what made for a good party? Food? She had a bunch of snacks out, lots of different kinds of chips and sweets from JGoB. Also, she'd set up deliveries from Ching Tai and Pizza Planet for later in the evening, so no one would be hungry. Drinks? She had plenty of soda and juice, and both the non-alcoholic punch and the totally-alcoholic Jell-o shots were chilling nicely in the fridge. Music? Right, her iPod was plugged into speakers and shuffling through her Party playlist. What else could a party possibly need?

People. Right. Parties definitely needed people. Well, hopefully they'd show up, either because of the posters or lured in by music and the smell of food. It was the end of summer. What better time for a party could there be?

When Ringo arrived she was very obtrusively holding a notebook and a pen. "I'm totally going to take a ton of notes!" she declared loudly in Kathy's direction.

Bets on how many pages were going to have anything written on them by the end of the night?

"Just so you know, I'm not looking for a pillow to whack you in the head with," Kathy announced, ostentatiously looking around the common room. "I'm looking for something else all together. Really."

"Like it would do you any good to have one," Ringo giggled as she walked over to where Kathy was standing.

"Maybe I've been practicing, just for tonight," Kathy threatened. While leaning in to give Ringo a hug, yes. "Maybe I secretly planned a giant pillow fight free-for-all as the highlight of the party." Because, you know, that was likely and all. "And if you steal that for your party, everyone will know who you got it from!"

Ringo hugged back with a grin. "But if mine is better than yours, then they'll also know who's better than who!"

So take that, Kathy!

Kathy heaved a sigh. "That's it," she said, trying to pick Ringo up. "Time to drown you in the punch bowl. It's the only way."

Ringo squealed, kicking her feet for a second. Being 5'2" and built like an, admittedly curvy, gymnast made it almost laughably easy for most people to manhandle her, to be fair.

"No drowning, no drowning!" she yelled, laughing.

Raven totally showed up in her cute pjs. Well. They were technically her ONLY pjs. But they were definitely cute!

"See, throwing a party isn't that hard."

Whereas Kathy had about five inches on her in height (and was envious of the curves), which meant that she was able to pull Ringo up and walk her at least a few feet towards the punchbowl. "Oh?" she asked. "What's in it for me if I don't drown you?" she asked. "Besides sass and party-stealing?"

"I'll believe that when it's full of people and everyone looks like they're having a good time," Kathy said, trying not to fret.

Or, rather, trying not to obviously fret. Someone should probably take away the napkin she was worrying, though.

Um, um. Come on, Ringo, think! There had to be a good answer to that question!

"I, um, I'll take you to Tokyo sometime?" Ringo said, jumping on the first remote reasonable idea that popped into her head.

Raven would, just as soon as she spotted something more durable for Kathy to worry.

"Well, there are two of us so far. Three people is a perfectly respectable sleepover number. Especially if Ringo agrees to help go kidnap other people, too."

Ringo waved when she spotted Raven. She remembered the other girl!

"Oh, wow, your pajamas look so cute!" she exclaimed. Her own were, well, honestly kind of boring. Ringo was totally going to have to go shopping for new pajamas now.

"Ooooh," Kathy said, setting her down. "Can we ride our ATs while we're there?"

Her father would freak if he knew his daughter was going to Japan of all places. And that only made her want to go even more.
