2nd Floor Common Room - Evening

Parker really didn't get much done today. She's watching the DVD of Midsummer Night's Dream -- the one with Kevin Kline and Callista Flockhart -- and making mental notes of what *not* to do as Queen of the Fairies.

She's also hoping to run into some people, so she can get some answers about what's been happening while she was in England.

And now Molly was getting annoyed. "Blair. I can protect myself just fine. Hello, mutant super strength and ~~nigh~~ near invulnerability.

"And what do you mean what is with me and him? We're friends."

"Hello, you almost killed Darla." Blair snarked. "For all your mutant strength and invulnerability...you didn't kill. I'm not saying that's bad. Angel is dying right now because of her! Dying!"

"Do you do what you do with Cam with all your friends who are older guys?"

Molly narrowed her eyes a little. "Can we go talk about this in the hallway?"

Blair stood and shrugged. "Sure, after you."

Molly stood and walked out of the common room. When she got out to the hallway, she turned to Blair. "First of all, I didn't kill Darla that night because I didn't have a stake. Also, the only vampire I'd ever known about before that night couldn't be killed by a stake so I didn't even know it was an option.

"Secondly, why do you have such a problem with me being friends with Cam? Is this still about the talk or whatever it is you two had? Because I told you that won't happen again."

"Okay," Blair waved his hand a bit and started pacing. "I have to admit most of what I know about vampires I've learned from Angel and books. But couldn't you just smush her to bits or something? Or throw a car on her?"

"I have a problem with Cam because...because ...because he's all close to you! I mean, how many other times have you gone out at dark with him? That's just not normal for guys and girls who are not dating to do!"

Molly exhaled in exasperation. "That wouldn't have killed her. Sunlight or a stake are the only ways that I know."

She leaned with her back against the wall and sighed. "I used to go out fighting bad guys at night all the time with my friends. Two of them are boys older than me. I am close to them too. They are like my brothers and Cam is the same way. Tuesday night was the only night that Cam and I went out together to hunt vampires. I went once before, but that was with Aeryn, Anakin, Bridge and Parker."

"So if you don't have your mutant strength, you still might be able to protect yourself? Because that might not always be there, like just recently, remember?"

"So you look at Cam like a brother? Are you sure that he looks at you the same way?" Blair didn't know if she'd really know the answer, but whatever the answer was, he was pretty sure he needed to talk to Cam.

Molly sighed again and looked down at her feet. "I don't know if I could protect myself without my powers, Blair." She looked up at him again. "But, recently was the only time I haven't had them since I was eleven and it was only because of that messed up spell thingy."

She cocked her head at his last question. "What other way would he look at me? He treats me like his sister and even says that I would get along well with his real sister."

"That's what worries me. Fandom is a weird place and what if you can't count on always having your powers? I just don't want you to get hurt."

Blair shrugged. "I don't know Molly. Maybe it's totally innocent, but if someone was telling me about a relationship like yours and Cam's, I would think there was something besides just friendship going on."

Molly gave him a small smile. "I don't want me to get hurt either. If I lose my powers again I'll deal with everything just like everyone else does."

She narrowed her eyes at Blair again. "I don't know about other relationships. All I know is that Cam is my friend and that is all."

Blair nodded tightly. "Okay, I hear you. Just friends"

"So do you...wanna go back or something?" He motioned back down the hallway and tried to smile.

Molly frowned. It had been a long day, mostly really good. But, now she was... unsettled. She didn't know why Blair kept pushing about Cam. The last thing she'd said had been the first thing she'd said: they were friends. She didn't see how everything in the middle made any difference.

She sighed. "No, Blair. I'm tired. I think I'm going to go up back up to my room now." She didn't move from where she was leaning against the wall though.

"I understand. I'm tired too." Blair looked down at the floor and sighed. This was the first time he had seen Molly since he'd been back and he had messed it up. He wasn't sure why he had this problem with Cam. Before he had been dating Molly he hadn't ever had a problem with Cam and now it was all confusing. He wasn't sure whether to go talk to him or back off and let the two of them figure out if they wanted to be a couple or not.

"Molly, I really am glad to see you. I missed you while I was gone and..." He looked up, he really wanted to apologize, but he wasn't sure what for. "I'm just glad to see you."

Molly grinned. A little sadly, but it was a grin. "I'm glad to see you too. I'd like to hear more about your trip soon and see any pictures you took." She finally stood away from the wall. "But, now I'm going to go sleep. Good night, Blair. I'll see you tomorrow maybe." She reached out and squeezed his hand lightly and the walked down the hallway toward the stairs.

"Good night Molly."

Blair watched her leave then slid down to sit on the floor. Dating was not as easy as it seemed in the books.
