Outside the Danger Room, 7th Period

Blair was tired and sore and looking a little worse for wear. He sported a bandage on his forehead and several small cuts and bruises were visible on his face, neck and hands. His cast on the other hand was looking suspiciously shiny and white, as Aziraphale had kindly fixed that for him.

Also, he was without his backpack, but that might be hard to tell since he was sitting down on the floor just outside the danger shop door, the stop-sign shaped with the word "THINK" laying in front of him. It wasn't his best sign, but he felt really guilty about flashing a sign about not killing demons after last night.

"You'd be surprised. I don't think Dr. Wilson and I share the same views on killing." Blair bit his lip and tried again. "If we stopped the situation before the fighty parts, like when they first hit the car maybe it would have turned out differently."

"Did you do anything to make them hit your car?"

"We were probably speeding." Blair said. "Maybe the demons wanted us to obey traffic laws."

"I really, really, really doubt that, Blair. And even if they were, that wasn't the proper method of law enforcement."

"The Man never follows the rules they enforce?"

Nadia shook her head vehemently. "Not true. The Man always follows the rules. They just create rules with built in loop-holes that only they know about in order to get around the rules. But running you off the road? That's too blatant a disregard. The Man is more subtle than that."

"Are you coming to Damn the Man club tonight?" Blair asked in a vain attempt to distract Nadia.

"We have a Damn the Man club?" Nadia was not distracted, but curious enough to continue with the new discussion . . . for now.

"Yup. The first meeting is tonight." Blair nodded. "I could use a minion good thinker like you."

"I'll have to see if I can make it. Now, as I was saying, you really need to take last night's events into consideration regarding your policy on demon hunting. The simple fact is that not everyone in a situation like the one you were in last night would be able to get away from those demons, so those who are able to handle the situation need to be on the look out to protect the ones who aren't."

Blair knew that that wasn't going to last for long.

"I get it, Nadia. Really. If Bel and Aziraphale hadn't shown up, we'd probably be dead. If they had attacked us, I probably would have had to fight back. If I had tried to calm things down at the beginning, I probably would have ended up dead."

"Good. Just glad you know that. There's nothing wrong with wanting to promote the peaceful method, first, but you have to know that sometimes it won't work, and then you can start learning where it CAN."

Blair nodded slowly. "But I can still promote it as the first option, right?"

[nadiathesaint]

"Yeah, but you have to acknowledge while you're doing it that it might not always work, but that people should be aware of the option should they encounter a situation where it might." Nadia nodded to his current sign.

"That's probably the best motto you've come up with yet. Honestly, I kind of want to post it all over the island."

And the country. And maybe sky-write it or use a laser to burn it into the moon. . . .

Blair pointed at the sign and shrugged. "You can have it after the protest is done, man."

Nadia shook her head. "You keep it. I can make other copies."

"That's cool." Blair nodded.

"Seriously. Best motto ever. Short, gets people's attention, and they have to think about what they're supposed to think about, which accomplishes the original goal of getting them thinking, and then you can get them thinking about what you want them thinking about."

"Thanks, man." Blair smiled. "I'm glad you like it."

"Well, only if you're able to get them thinking about what you want them thinking about once you get them started thinking."

Blair blinked and rubbed his head. "Okay, ow on the brain there, man."

Nadia shrugged. "I'd use more different words, but my English vocabulary isn't that big."

"I'd tell you to use a different language and I could just keep up, but I'm not sure I'm up to that right now." Blair shrugged.

"Yet you're bound and determined to protest."

"Next time I'll arrange my major injuries to happen after Wednesday's protest." Blair smiled.
