First Floor Lobby: Sunday afternoon

Finals started tomorrow, so Jack was - surprisingly enough - studying.

He was doing it in a very Jack way, though. He'd claimed the biggest couch in the first floor lobby as his own and was currently sprawled across it, shirtless, sucking on a lollipop while he flipped through a textbook.

Propped up at each end of the couch was a sign which read--

Lick a Seahorse for Luck!

The table next to him held several empty coffee cups, with books and notes piled haphazardly next to them, and sitting underneath it - where it wouldn't be immediately apparent to anyone walking past - was a large box, filled with lollipops that he would happily share.

"Sam! Nope, I'm good. I'm great, actually." Jack grinned and hopped up to walk around her. "Maybe I should get you one?"

"What? Oh, no." She glanced down at herself, "I'm gonna hit the shower in a few minutes. What's all this?"

"This is lick a Seahorse for luck!" He held out his arms, then leaned in to steal a kiss.

It wasn't stealing a kiss if she gave it to him, which she did. "How was the concert?"

"Interesting," he said, leaning against her a bit. "Scary in parts. Lots of very odd costumes. But it was fun, and then Isabel took me out to the beach to watch a meteor shower, so it was a very late night." The leaning turned into an arm around her waist. "Did you get up to anything interesting?"

"I missed a meteor shower? And Kawalsky and Crichton were singing Christmas carols around the dorm," Sam laughed, shaking her head, "So I got my own special version of an old disco song that I might have to thwap Crichton about later."

Jack laughed, even though he kind of wanted to make a face at the mention of Kawalsky. "That must have been very interesting. And yeah, sorry I didn't come and get you but it was three am. I didn't want to wake you."

"You have no idea," she rolled her eyes, "especially about them dressing like Mr. and Mrs. Claus. And thanks, I was asleep, though I'm sorry I missed you." She kissed him again, "When are you going to explain about the licking?"

Jack kissed her back, pulling her into a hug, heedless of any sweatiness. "Right now, if you ask nicely."

"Please explain about the seahorse licking? Did I miss a memo?"

He laughed, glanced around to make sure no one was around, then licked a delicate path up the side of her neck, tasting salt and Sam. "Nope, this one's all me. The licking is for luck. The Seahorses," and he let go off Sam to grab a handful of lollipops out of the box, "are these!"

"Well, how can I resist that?" Sam took the lollipops, "Cute. And wait, when do I get my turn for some luck?"

"Now?" he suggested, smiling wickedly as he slid his hands over her shoudlers. "There's no one around."

"Hmmm, so many choices," she teased, bending forward and kissing his shoulder, then taking a long, slow lick along his collarbone, "I was very worried about my finals, you see."

Jack shivered, eyes half closing as his hands tightened on her shoulders. "We can't have that."

"Of course not. God forbid I not bring home straight A's. I might not get into the college I'm not going to."

Jack laughed at that, and kissed her. "God forbid, 'cause it's not like people are lining up at your door already."

Yeah, she really needed to make a decision about that one of these days. "I'm thinking of installing a turnstile."

"It would certainly make things more orderly, no lines of people, pushing and shoving." He started to wander back to his couch, fingers trailing down her arm to grasp hers and he pulled gently, trying to draw her after him. "Possibly cut down on unnecessary injuries."

"Yes, because it's the necessary ones we need to keep in their regular numbers," Sam teased, following after him.

Snickering, he dropped to sit and patted the couch next to him. "Well, they're inevitable, you know. There's only of of you, and there's got to be hundreds of people who want you, so there's bound to be fistfights in the line."

"Careful," she warned, curling into his side on the couch, "you keep saying things like that and there won't be room for my head in the lobby."

"That's a risk I'm willing to take," he said, turning to kiss her hair as he slipped an arm around her. "You're highly desirable, Sam. I know you can do anything you decide you want to."

"I think you've licked too many seahorses," Sam told him, smirking a little, "Is there a warning on those? Like, 'licking too many seahorses may be hazardous to your health'?"

Jack poked her in the side. "Stop that. I try and be nice..." He sighed exaggeratedly and rolled his eyes. "And if too much seahorse licking is hazardous to one's health?" He grinned and moved so he was half kneeling over her. "You're going to be in big trouble. Maybe we should get you to the clinic now."
