Fourth floor common room: Thursday morning [before workshops]

It was Thursday morning. It was Karal's last day of classes. He'd woken up early, as per usual, and for some reason he thought it would be a good idea to attempt breakfast.

Karal had never cooked before. Ever. But there were eggs in the fridge, and milk, and cheese. A further rummage turned up bacon, onions and some mushrooms, and, well, a lot of other things he didn't recognise. He left those where they were.

"I think I can make an omelette from these," he told Altra, who was perched on a chair, watching him. "I am fairly certain I know what one is."

:This will end well,: the 'cat drawled, shaking his head.

"No, I am sure I know what it is. Eggs and other things, all cooked up together." He surveyed the ingredients and nodded firmly, pulling out a frying pan. "It cannot be that difficult."

Altra facepawed. Luckily there was coffee already brewed, which Karal did know how to make.

"You can cook too?" Gavin asked, appearing at the door to the common room. "Man of many talents."

Altra looked straight at Gavin and shook his head. :Not even a little bit.:

"Altra, that's not fair! I have never tried." Karal looked up from the onion he was attempting to cut. "Good morning, Gavin. Ignore Altra. He thinks this is going to end badly. But it cannot be that difficult. Can it?"

"I've never cooked before," Gavin admitted, coming inside and taking a seat. He smiled at Altra a little knowingly. "But, sure! It can't be that hard. Just follow the instructions, right?"

Isabel had had a restless night. Eventually she gave up trying to get back to sleep and wandered out to the common room in search of coffee.

"Morning," she yawned.

"Good morning, Isabel!" Karal looked over from where he was attempting to cook. "Would you care for some coffee?"

"You've made some?" she asked, sniffing the air. "Oh thank god."

"Good morning," Gavin said. "No beach today?"

Jaina had a little bit of time to kill this morning, so she made her way upstairs to see if anything interesting was going on. "Oh, look, people."

"Morning," Gavin said, waving. "You're up early."

"Good morning, Jaina!" Karal waved a spoon at her. "I am discovering how to create an omelette! And there is coffee in the pot, to fuel your invasion."

"Jaina hi! Karal's cooking," Isabel told her, trying hard not to laugh out loud.

Luke wandered into the common room, yawning. "Hot chocolate?" he begged blearily.

"That would make the chocolate melt," Gavin pointed out.

"There's coffee that seems safe enough," Jaina offered.

"Gah! Too sweet this early in the morning," Isabel said, making a face.

"There is coffee," Karal offered. "Or I have hot chocolate in my room. I could fetch you some?"

"Hey Luke." Billy nodded, waiting for the coffee to kick in. He rubbed his eye tiredly. "Morning."

Setsuna was on her way back from her morning training (shhh, don't tell; and it was light stuff, she promised, that didn't use her wounded arm at all!), when she passed the common room, stopped, and walked back.

"There are actually other people up this early?" Clearly, she was pleasantly surprised. And had details for the next time someone made fun of her about it.

"Karal's cooking," Isabel explained. Her grin should make it pretty clear what she thought of that. "But there's coffee."

"Morning!" Gavin waved. "I was surprised that people were up too!"

"Good morning, Setsuna." Karal was happy to see her, and he smiled, but it fell as he saw the bandage. "What happened to your arm?"

"I'm often up this early." Billy nodded. "Sometimes I'm even awake."

Adam was an early bird by nature, so really, it wasn't that surprising he was up.

He wandered into the common room after his mun was free for a bit and waved. "Morning," Yes, he really was quite cheerful for how early it was.

Katal waved a greeting now that his mun was out of bed. "Good morning," he said. "I do not believe we have met? I'm Karal." He pointed at the 'cat who was sleeping on the back of the couch. "And that is Altra. There is coffee, if you'd like."

"Mar." Billy greeted vaguely, shuffling in bare feet into the common room. His eye was bleary and he began heading for the coffee. Into which he melted a hershey bar, and two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
