First Floor Lobby, evening

After visiting the big picnic, and picking out most of the new people by sight, Evie retired back to the dorms and settled into the lobby couch to people-watch. With a book. Or possibly, five.

"Wow, that's quite a few books," Haku smiled as he paused coming into the dorms.

Wow that was a pretty girl. Bart stared openly at Haku for-a minute-ever.

Haku caught sight of someone for a moment.

Or at least he thought he did? "What the-?"

Bart stopped quickly to wave at her. "HiI'mBart!"

"Hello Bart, I'm Haku." Haku chuckled and watched him.

She was really pretty. Reminded him of his mom a little bit. What he remembered about her anyway.

"Are you new here too?"

"No," Haku shook his head. "I've been here since the begining of summer. I'm going to take a guess that you're new though."

"Yes it is," Evie said a little absently, then smiled up from the pages of Desire in the Desert. "It means I can read any of them without having to go back to my room." She cocked her head. "Forgive me, but I think I've seen you around, but don't know your name-- I'm Evie."

"Haku," he smiled. "It's nice to meet you Evie. I think I might have seen you when you went into Deadpool's classes." Haku explained and looked through the stack.

"Are these any good? I've never really had a chance to read for fun so I'm never sure where to start."

"Ahh, that's right." Evie nodded, having placed Haku. "Never had the chance to read for fun? Oh dear Lord, that's terrible." She immediately picked out Death Warriors of Mars for him. "This is a classic science fiction adventure, which I adore, I'm afraid. Vicarious violence and all. And, this is a mystery, and that's a French romance, and that's and English romance, and that's the History of the Roman Empire, but I'm not really done with that one yet." She took a breath, and looked abashed. "Forgive me. I get rather intense about things bookish."

Haku shook his head vigourously. "No! It's really okay!" Haku smiled brightly. "I just finished my culture book for this world, so I've been really wanting to read some fictional novels and see a movie. A mystery novel sounds good though."

"Borrow it with my blessing. I'm sure Jake would be proud of me, he's the one that got me into reading those," Evie said, holding out the book. "I'm up in room 512, with, um. Walter Cheswick." Evie might have looked a little suffocated at that point. "And have you visited the Library? It's got a *lovely* selection."

"Thank you! I'm in 321, I share it with Robyn. He's a frog," Haku explained with a smile and flipped open the book to look through it. "He's really sweet though. I haven't been to the library, I wanted to wait until I finished my culture book so I'd understand more of what I was reading. Its kind of frustrating to have to pause every other sentence to look up what they're talking about."

"Are you one of those big reading types?" Demyx asked curiously. Then he paused. "Are you a girl?"

"Yes, and no," Haku smirked, letting Demyx come to his own conclussions.

"Yes you're a girl or no you're not?" Demyx asked, not letting the subject drop. "Because either you're a pretty girl, or a super-pretty boy."

"Why thank you," Haku giggled. He was having WAAAAAY to much fun with this.

Demyx frowned at him. "Why don't you answer? Are you neither, or something? Because that's just weird."

Haku chuckled again and decided to put Demyx out of his misery. He didn't really want to make him angry over it. "I'm sorry, I'm a boy."

A.J. couldn't help it. From where he was sitting, slightly buzzed on the lobby couch, he gave that pretty Asian girl a big, dorky smile.

Haku smiled back and tilted his head curiously at the boy on the couch. "Are you new?"

"Yeah," he answered, a little bashfully, ducking his head that he'd been noticed. "Name's A.J. What's yours?"

"Haku, it's nice to meet you A.J. Enjoying yourself so far?" It was really cute the way he seemed so bashful.

"It's been....a....crazy first day," A.J. admitted, laughing a little with a shake of his head. He let out a long breath, running a hand through his hair and then settling his gaze back toward Haku. "So, we'll just get this done and over with. Are you from any different, weird worlds, are you coming from a different time, and can you turn water into wine or any other assorted weird powers?"

Haku giggled and nodded. "I'm from a different world and I can control water, but I've never turned it into wine. Sorry to disappoint. How about you? Are you from around here?"
