Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

"Can you hand me the ginger?" Ronan asked, as he ground some spices with a mortar and pestle. "The fresh, I mean." The fragrant smells of cooking curry were already pervading the common room, and probably making their way through the rest of the dorms. When Isabel handed over the asked-for ginger, he added some to the mixture in the mortar, and went back to grinding. "Thanks. I hope this isn't too spicy for whoever else comes along," he added.

"Yeah we've sort of got, um, a thing." Meg said, walking over to Isabel. She took her hair out of the ponytail it was in and shook it out a little. "I want it red. Like Ariel from the Little Mermaid red."

Hey, if you were going to do something you might as well do it right.

"A thing? Things can be good," Isabel nodded. "Things can be very good."

"Red it is then." She ran her hands over Meg's hair, picturing the bright red that she wanted. "There you go."

Meg was about to mention the difficulty about having a thing with Dean but she caught sight of her hair in the reflection of a spoon on the counter.

"Oh my god!" She picked up the spoon to get a better look. "Wow."

"It's red alright," she grinned. "I like it. What do you think?"

"I like it too. I knew I'd look awesome as a red head. My mom was so wrong." Meg laughed. "But I don't think the world is ready for red headed Meg Manning."

"Are you sure? I bet people Dean would love it," Isabel said. "You should leave it like that for a day or two."

"Oh, I'm sure." she said. She was tempted to take a picture and send it to her mom. "My Halloween costume looks so much more complete as a blonde. But maybe after Halloween?"

"Sure," she nodded. "Just stop by whenever you want." Heading back to the stove, Isabel stirred a few things around. "What are you going as?"

"A French maid." Meg said. "But who knows, I might chicken out at the last moment. The outfit is tiny."

Isabel snickered. "Don't. I'm sure you'll look great in it. I'd been thinking about that myself. Especially after the conversation Wyatt and I had the other day. But I think I might stick with my belly dancer costume."

"I'm sure Wyatt will like that." Meg said, grinning. "Got any special plans for Wednesday?"

Considering the amount of skin it displayed? Isabel was fairly certain he would like it as well. "Nothing at the moment. But I'm sure we'll figure it out."

"I think Dean and I are going out to grab some candy from people and then watch scary movies in his room." she said. She didn't mention Dean's invite to stay with him the night since it made her blush just thinking about it.

"That's a good plan," she nodded. "We might have to do something similar. I guess it depends if there's anything going on in town."

"I'm sure something will be going on." Meg said. "If not, there's always the bar."

"Maybe Devil's Nest. You can dance there. Although Caritas with the zombie band on Halloween would be oddly appropriate," Isabel chuckled.

"Ugh. Those guys are so creepy." said Meg. "I don't know how Dick touches those things every week."

"I couldn't do it," she agreed. "Way too nasty."

"They do know how to play those instruments though." Meg said. "Makes you wonder what they did before the whole zombie thing happened."

"And who they pissed off to wind up as zombies," Isabel pondered. "Somebody pretty powerful, I'd guess."

Meg shrugged. "I'm clueless when it comes to this whole supernatural thing."

"Oh so am I pretty much," she said. "I've just watched a few too many horror movies. So I can make some guesses on the very basics."

"I'm a fan of the cheesy horror flicks myself." Meg said. "The worse the acting the better."

"Oh absolutely. Then you can play bad movie bingo. And mark off when the comic relief dies. And when the underdressed blonde goes running up the stairs instead of out of the house like any sane person," Isabel grinned.
