roof | early evening | thursday | march 18
Really, it was way too fucking nice to smoke in his room tonight. And honestly, he'd been spending so much time in there, trying to let his bruises heal that he was sick of it. He felt fine, it was warm and he hadn't been up to the roof in awhile. It was the perfect day to do that.
So, after pushing onto the roof, he had a cigarette lit almost immediately before hopping up on the roof's ledge and laying flat on his back, letting the setting sun warm his face. He almost felt relaxed. It'd been a shitty month so far save for a few things but sometimes it was just nice to get some fresh air.
Cigarette smoke notwithstanding.
[nice day is nice! roof is open!]

"I come up for fresh air, and there's always smoke," she teased, rolling her eyes.

But probably not. There was a lot of serious right now.

And about a million things that she was All In Favour of Not Thinking About.
Clearly that meant she had to go flying and, really, the best place to take off was the roof.
... Or she could talk to people who were on the roof. Ino was easy that way. Distractions were shiny.
"Last time I did something like that," Ino commented lightly, "someone told me I was going to fall."

Behave yourself, Ino.
"Besides, I don't care if you smoke. Free world."
Also, Ino found people smoking kinda comforting. Bit like home and Asuma-sensei. Not that she'd admit it.

Never never ever gonna happen.
"You smoke?"

A beat.
"I don't," Ino confessed. "Ain't managed to pick up that habit."

"Sad, huh?" She lifted one shoulder in a shrug. "If I went off the roof 'cause it was my own idea I wouldn't get hurt."
She could stick to walls. Or, with Staffy, she could fly.
"It's not that high up anyway," Ino teased. "Totally not messy."

Also: ew.
"And, sure, often enough." Ino twirled the intricately carved staff in one hand with ease. "It's easy enough when you can fly. Tell me a drug that can top that."

"I flung myself over the ledge to prove my point that I weren't worried 'bout falling."
It was hard to be worried about falling when you could stick to walls with just a tiny bit of chakra.

"It worked," she said loftily, grinning back. "Probably made them trust me even less on rooftops since then they knew I was perfectly happy to fling myself off of them on a whim."
"Besides," Ino added, "that sort of nagging totally deserves an answer that rules and totally ends all forms of argument."

She shrugged, sitting down the ledge and letting her feet dangle.
"And kinda traumatic to witness, I guess? But I don't really see the point in carin' 'bout it if the person doing it doesn't have a death wish. Especially here--you never know who can survive a fall like that."
