Third Floor Common Room [Monday evening]

Jaime had popcorn, chips and salsa, and candy corn (hey, it was that time of year!) spread out and was flopped back on the couch sorting through a small stack of DVDs. He wasn't entirely sure what he wanted to... Aha!

Giant robots with over-the-top (if somewhat awkward) CGI effects were just what the doctor ordered. Not that the movie was really good, but Jaime wasn't looking for good.

And at least it wasn't the sequel.

"I know, I'm just not one of them. I mean the classes were interesting, and some of it was fun, discussing what would happen in certain situations? But I totally prefer my other classes. Like the flying ones. Did you know Jaina when she was here?"

"I think I ran into her once or twice," Jaime nodded.

[heromaniac]

Momoko nodded. "She's teaching my Spaceships class! She came back older. It's so weird. We used to be in Flight club together. She's a good teacher, though. We learned about a destroyer the other day that was totally huge!" Momoko reached into the candy bowl, but came up empty. "They had to... Ah!"

She held the empty candy bowl up to Jaime, pouting.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Jaime asked. "You're the one who ate all the candy." He tried to hold his hand so that it wasn't obvious he had a handful he was still working on.

[heromaniac]

"But it was so tasty! And there's still movie left!" She looked in the bowl again, then back at him. "Don't you have another bag?"

[weldedtomyspine]

"If I had another bag, don't you think I would have put it in the bowl?" Unless he knew he was hanging out with a candy fiend. Then he might have stashed an extra bag or two.

Ah. Jaime had a point, but Momoko still kept her pout as she set the bowl on the floor and then tossed herself back, purposely bumping and then leaning against his shoulder. She totally should have brought some of her own candy down with her.

"There totally better be more robots in this movie."

[weldedtomyspine]

"It's all about robots," Jaime assured her, leaning his head over to bump the top of hers before straightening slightly.

It turned out that surreptitiously refilling a candy bowl was a lot harder when the person you were trying to be sneaky around was leaning on you.

Would it help if there was a sudden explosion on the screen and one of the cars transformed into another evil giant robot, causing Momoko to squeal and try to tug on his arm? Probably not, but oh, well.

"Look! Look! Did you see that? I totally knew that was going to happen!"

If by 'help' you meant would Jaime spill some candy corn on the floor, then yes. That was totally helpful. He tried to cover by quickly poking Momoko. "You did, did you? Is that because you're a giant robot expert?"

She pushed at his hand, grinning. "More than you! At least I've piloted one. And Jaime," she then narrowed her eyes and moved closer so they were almost face to face. "I can hear a candy bag rattling over the sound of an explosion any day." She tapped his nose with a finger, then snatched the bag from him and sat back with a happy sigh.

Jaime's eyes crossed to focus on that finger. "That's your real super-power, isn't it?" He was totally onto her!

[heromaniac]

"No, that's just a bonus." She was totally going to ration herself this time. She'd eat the candy corn in sections! That way each piece would last three times as long!

"You'll never guess what my real super-power is, and I can't reveal it to just anyone."

"It involves being ticklish, doesn't it?"

[heromaniac]

"No. No, it totally does not! Jaime Reyes, if you even dare..." She held up the candy as if it was a shield and started to scoot away. "If I lose this bag of candy!"

"Maybe you should put it down, then." See? Wasn't that good advice? Jaime was helpful that way.

[heromaniac]

"Oh no! My candy and my shield!" She pointed at the screen. "Look! A robot just exploded!"

[weldedtomyspine]

"I know," Jaime said without looking. "It's my DVD, remember?"

[heromaniac]

"... I'm totally going to be tickled, aren't I?"

[weldedtomyspine]

"I don't know..." Jaime shot her a teasing grin. "What do I get if I restrain myself?"

[heromaniac]

"Me not complaining about missing the really good totally awesome movie that you picked out with your perfect and wonderful taste in films?" She grinned back.

[weldedtomyspine]

"I feel like I should hold out for a better deal." Jaime held up his hands, wiggling his fingers.

[heromaniac]

Momoko meeped. "I don't have a better deal! Ah! I'll make chili! For dinner! You say when, just no tickling until at least the movie is over?" Not that she minded being tickled, but she'd never be able to concentrate on the DVD, otherwise.

Jaime considered that, then nodded. He let his hands fall back into his lap.

"Okay. But no trying to wriggle out of it later."

[heromaniac]

"Why should I?" She scooted back next to him, retrieving the bowl as she did. "I like my chili. It's totally never going to be on the menu at some fancy restaurant, but it's good!" She poured the bag of candy into the bowl. "And fall is the perfect weather for it."
