Second Floor Common Room [Evening]

Ramona had flung herself onto a couch in the common room, in the interest of actually being social. Now, granted, while she had the television tuned to reruns of Rescued by the Alarm -- because who didn't love reliving the early nineties? Such large phones! -- she did have her nose buried in a book as she kept half an ear on the TV.

Look, the last Barry Plodder movie was coming out in a matter of like, a week, and while she wasn't a super-fan or anything, she had to try and remember exactly what happened when those kids weren't just walking around in the woods all the time. That was all they seemed to do for like, half that book. So she was refreshing herself on the events that took place in the latter half of the book, because she didn't want to be caught off-guard again like she had when she saw the last movie and that cute goblin thing had bit it.

[totally open, omg. I am totally watching SBtB right now, too.]

"Oooh, Barry Plodder," Miley exclaimed, charging right in and flopping down on the couch. "Hi! I'm Miley! I love those movies, they're so good. What's your name?"

She was maybe a little energetic, Ramona. Fresh from the beach and all.

"I've never read 'em," Miley said, bouncing slightly as she shifted to get comfortable. "But we had a costume dance at school and my best friends went as the two best friends in the book. They wore the robe thingies and everything."

There was some useful information Ramona obviously needed in her life.

"I'm almost surprised the radio's not on, too," Bruce said as he walked into the room, either mocking Ramona for multi-tasking or mocking her for not multi-tasking enough. His tone didn't really show which way he was leaning on that point.

"Did they do a lot of musical stuff on this show?" Bruce asked. "I never really watched it, so I don't know how likely that is."

SHOCK OF SHOCKS.

"People in a common room, including Bruce Wayne and there's no large quantity of prepared food waiting for my consumption," Caroline remarked, disappointed by the lack. "Clearly my assumptions about this place were wrong."

"I don't usually bring food to other floors. It doesn't seem fair to the other people from the fifth floor," Bruce said. "Just be glad the television works properly here."

"True," she was quite glad of that. "Though I suppose admitting I came for the food makes me a terrible person...or maybe just a hungry one. I would blame you, but I haven't seen you around in a while. Class this morning excepted."

Butters walked into the common room, took a look around, and then lifted his arms up with a cheer.

"Whoo-hoo!" he said. "Finally!"

"I went out to get to the second floor common room," Butters said, puffing out his chest with his arms folded importantly over it. He looked around like a man claiming some great, newfound world, "and I got there! Not the third floor, or the forth floor, or the sixth floor, but the second!"

He gave a deep sigh of satisfaction. "Finally."

And, after a moment, he quickly added, "Yesterday didn't count, 'cause Stan and Jim were with me."

Freddie wandered into the common room and happily plopped down onto a couch.

"Have I mentioned lately that I love this school? Because I love this school. And... what on earth are they showing on the TV?"

He was, in fact, of a generation after such a show.

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Because I have a class taught by a pink pony who gives us cupcakes on the first day," Freddie said. "And I get to say that sentence, and I've not actually gone crazy!" He grinned. "That's great, isn't it?"

"I have no idea," Miley deadpanned, leaning over the arm of her couch to talk to him. "But it seems kinda lame. Like, hello, the nineties show has already been done."

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not even sure what's so cool about the nineties," Freddie said. "I mean, I wasn't even alive for some of it. How can it be that cool?"

He was joking, of course.

"...And here I thought the advantage of living in the future was there would be all new terrible television to make fun of," Toby commented as he wandered in.

[identity profile] godgavemecable.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Is it still nostalgia if I was there two months ago?" Toby wondered.

Oooh people in her new common room! Spotting the program on the television she immediately aww'd. "Ooh, classics marathon. Count me in."

Probably she should've paid a little more attention to who all was in the room, but hey, she could do friendly. She was like, made for this sort of thing.

"While it might burn my sense of fashion, I think I'll survive it. Though never will I ever be trying to get a nineties theme party going," she shared, watching as the green-haired girl did her best to ignore her.

"You're Ramona, right? I thought I heard we were going to be hallmates now." She was just going to doubt the rest of what she'd heard.
