The dorm lawn- Wednesday night at 2 am

At 2 am exactly, a loud buzzing sound rang through the dorms. An not just any buzzing. A loud, obnoxious "BZZZT!" followed by a two-second pause, followed by another "BZZZT!", followed by another two-second pause, followed by a... You get the idea. And the really bad part was the way it tended to feel like it was inside your head when it "BZZZT"ed as you were passing by in the halls.

So due to the "BZZZT"ing and fire safety regulations, the students had to drag their tired, cranky selves out of bed (or whatever), make their way down the halls and stairwells, and file out onto the dorm lawn in the chilly, damp weather, and did we mention it was 2 am?

The Fandom fire department was on hand, but they'd probably make everyone wait for a while just because they were cranky, too.

He wouldn't deny that he'd been looking at her chest. It was a great chest but he wasn't JUST looking at her chest.

"I'm barely awake and I'm cold," he said and laughed. "Maybe it's stimulating my brain. How aren't you cold?"

"I'm a very warm person." And She-Ra, hell she could turn her sword into a flame if she wanted. "Perhaps I could loan you some heat like you did for me?"

"If you're offering some heat, I'm definitely accepting," he said and even shivered for good measure. "I'd appreciate the loan."

"You're shivering!" She-Ra said, moving closer to wrap her arms around him. "Seems I was just in time."

"You're always just in time," he said, leaning against her and completely taking advantage of this, oh yes. "You're soft too."

"That's part of being a girl," She-Ra chuckled, resting her cheek against his shoulder. "We're much softer than boys."

"And a lot prettier too," he said, taking more advantage of the situation and rubbing her back softly. "Beauty and the beast."

"I wouldn't call you a beast at all," she replied. "Beasts are rarely so nice and easy to hug."

"Beasts in looks," he clarified with a laugh. "No, I rock at hugs. I rock at other things too."

"I'll bet you rock at other things," she agreed. "Let me guess, sports?"

"Depends on the sport," he hummed against her shoulder.

"How about fencing?" she teased.

"Never fenced before," he admitted. "Swords aren't my weapon of choice."

"No broad swords? What about knives?" Okay, she couldn't hold back the giggle even if she did turn a little red at her own joke.

"Knives, definitely," he said and noticed the blush but didn't press. It was cute, all right? "Guns are more what I use."

"So your sport is hunting," She-Ra said. "Very interesting. What do you hunt?"

"I don't hunt," he corrected, shaking his head. "If I use a gun, it's mostly for self defense."

She readjusted her head on his shoulder to look at him better. "Do you have a lot of reason to defend yourself? It doesn't sound very much like sport."

"No, which is why I don't use it that often," he said. "But, sometimes. It's a comforting thing to have in this place."

"There are a lot of comforting things in Fandom," She-Ra acknowledged. "Like capable young men... and women." She added that last part for appearances, yes.

"Not a lot of comforting things where you're from?" he asked, doing some more comforting, yes.

"Just comforting people," she replied, not minding his version of comfort at all. "You're very comforting, you know."

"Thanks," he said, pleased. "So're you. And you're warm. And soft. I could fall asleep right here."

Oh please let him fall asleep right there.

"You make me sound like a pillow," she laughed, rubbing a hand over his back. "But you can sleep if you like. I can return you to your bed when they give the word."

"I wouldn't ask you to carry me," he said but damn, it was nice and warm right here. "I'm heavy."
