The dorm lawn- Wednesday night at 2 am

At 2 am exactly, a loud buzzing sound rang through the dorms. An not just any buzzing. A loud, obnoxious "BZZZT!" followed by a two-second pause, followed by another "BZZZT!", followed by another two-second pause, followed by a... You get the idea. And the really bad part was the way it tended to feel like it was inside your head when it "BZZZT"ed as you were passing by in the halls.

So due to the "BZZZT"ing and fire safety regulations, the students had to drag their tired, cranky selves out of bed (or whatever), make their way down the halls and stairwells, and file out onto the dorm lawn in the chilly, damp weather, and did we mention it was 2 am?

The Fandom fire department was on hand, but they'd probably make everyone wait for a while just because they were cranky, too.

"Someone was having a sleepover, and my grandmother bought the nightgown for me. I thought it was a little boring, though, so I added the ducks. They're all soft and squishy so it's kind of comfy to sleep in," explained Harper.

"Where did you find all the squishy ducks?" Claudia asked. "I've only seen the plastic ones. They're fun to paint."

"They're from some company I found online. They sell stuff in bulk, so I still have a lot of ducks leftover," said Harper.

"Oooh, I keep forgetting about online," Claudia said. "We don't have that at home."

"Oh no! I have no idea what I would do without the Internet. You can find the coolest things there," said Harper.

"You have to show me the good places to shop," Claudia decided.

"Oh, definitely! I should stop by with my laptop and show you some awesome websites," said Harper. "You won't believe the kind of stuff you can find on Craigslist. People are just giving it away!"

"Who's Craig?" Claudia asked.

"I'm not sure, but he must be a genius for having such a neat idea," said Harper.

"Totally," Claudia agreed. "Oh, how are the costumes coming for the play?"

"Geoffrey seems to be coming along," said Harper, smiling. "We've reached some compromises on stuff we didn't agree on. He actually liked the idea of having each character wear a different color."

"That's a completely excellent idea!" Claudia enthused. "How many characters are there?"

"Um, a lot?" guessed Harper. "I haven't met a lot of the cast yet."

"If you need help with sewing towards the end, let me know, okay? I know how hard it is to costume everyone. I helped with a couple of plays back home."

"Oooh, thanks Claudia," said Harper, grinning. "I'll let you know as soon as I figure out what Geoffrey will let me get away with."
