Fifth Floor Common Room [evening]

Sookie was sort of surprised by the very sticky rain, and that in and of itself was a mark of how long she'd been there.

And after a day spent indoors reading, she decided to do something smart about the rain. And so she wandered out to her common room, found it empty, and took to carefully positioning some buckets to hang out the windows.

Sookie, meanwhile, set to work mixing up some pancake batter. And, of course, frying up some bacon and eggs. It wasn't really breakfast-for-supper unless you had all the components.

Kennedy hadn't been about to go out in that sticky mess. For one, hell no, and for two, it was still a little disconcerting to realize that there was weirdness that could still throw her. Demons, okay. Magic being real, that one she was still working on. Maple syrup from the sky? Totally off the scale.

She'd finished off a nice session in the gym by heading back to the dorms and running the stairs a few times, and the bacon scent she'd caught on her trips was enough to draw her back up to the fifth floor after a shower.

"Big sister making breakfast for dinner? Someone might say you're a bad influence." She smirked. "Like I care if they do."

"A girl after my own heart," Bobby greeted with a grin. "Hey."

"Don't get any ideas," Kennedy warned him immediately.

And hello to you too, Bobby.

"Any ideas?" Bobby retorted. "So like, if I suddenly came up with the solution to world hunger, I should keep quiet?" Smartass.

Kennedy just kept meeting the smartass guys. Or the idiots, which was... most of them, if you asked her.

"Don't really see you as the type," she said, "but hey, if it's that kind of idea, don't let me stop you."

"Hey," Bobby frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?" Exactly what she'd said, Bobby. That's what.

"That there's nothing wrong with solving world hunger, duh," Kennedy replied. Which, for the record, was a totally abstract concept to her. "Good luck with that."

"They'd be awfully boring," Ino commented idly, glancing over. "If they thought breakfast at night was a bad influence."

"Less boring, more stick up the ass," Kennedy replied. Hey, wasn't that the girl from the reserves who said she was a ninja? "Okay, that probably includes boring, so this is me not caring."

"In full consideration, someone with a stick up their ass could possibly be not-boring," Ino amended, "but only if they were like, god-like in their attractiveness. 'Cause then it wouldn't matter what they were talking about."

"You're Kennedy, from the reserves, yeah? 'Less you've got a double running 'round here." Which, really, was possible.

"A double?" Kennedy laughed. "Hey. Accept no imitations. That's me. Ino, right?"

Oh, she'd paid attention. Had to keep an eye on the competition, as it were.

"To most people anyway," she said, with a laugh. "Sometimes I give other names out."

Mostly when she felt especially brattish, admittedly.

"Doubles happen relatively frequently. People have to check--don't want to get it wrong, you know?"

"Like, evil doubles, or bizarro Fandom coincidence thing?" she had to ask. "Or both?"

"I'm an opportunist!" Sookie argued, grinning. "Life gives you syrup, you make pancakes."

"Syrup from the sky, and what is up with that?" Kennedy asked. "Does it snow powdered sugar when it gets colder?"

"Not that I've seen, but it could happen," Sookie said, shrugging. "Like people keep saying, this place is weird."

"This place takes weird to a whole new level." Kennedy headed over and reached out to snag a piece of bacon without asking. Asking was for other people, okay? "Not necessarily bad, just kind of messy."

"I tend to agree," Sookie said, watching that bacon theft with some amusement. "If I'd had anywhere to go today, I'd probably still be trying to get it out of my hair."

"So not fun," Kennedy said. "Good thing we have a sweet gym setup in here. Kept me nice and busy, and syrup free."

"Bad influences are the best kind," Rose said with a grin. "Hey Kennedy."

"Rose." Kennedy shot her a grin in return. "Couldn't possibly agree more. How's it going?"

"I don't have syrup in my hair anymore," she said instantly. "Which makes it awesome."

"It's only fun if you were planning on getting it there," Kennedy declared. "And usually you get in trouble for that kind of planning outside."

Yeah, that was a satisfied smirk on Rose's face for a moment. "Only when they catch you," she pointed out. "And the squirrels can't be everywhere."

"...squirrels?" If anybody had explained that to Kennedy yet, she'd missed it.
