3rd Floor Common Room | Friday Evening

Stiles didn't have any plans for the evening which was on par for a Stilinski Friday night. He was still trying to avoid going into town so his entertainment options were relegated to watching porn in his room or watching something that wasn't porn in the common room. Well actually he could do both, since watching porn didn't take all night. But he did eventually end up in the common room, watching a horror movie about frat boys who piss off an irradiated grizzly bear.

It was about as horrible as it sounded. Which would explain why Stiles was more focused on the (surprisingly unburnt!) popcorn he had made and answering the barrage of texts he kept getting.

"I'm pretty sure it's the cinematic masterpiece of our time," Stiles said. "Can't you tell by the grade A acting?"

"It's no Sharktopus..."

"But this movie has a bear that's been given some sort of superpowers thanks to toxic waste," Stiles said. "Though I'm not entirely sure what said superpowers are."

"I think there are bears," Bay observed helpfully, and flipped a hand in a wave. "Hey. You were in sex ed."

"I was indeed," Tony replied with a wave. "You're... Bay?"

"I am," Bay nodded. "And you're... someone with a way better memory for names than I am, sorry."

Or else it was just Bay was a memorably weird name.

"From what I could hear from downstairs, this sounds like a movie about morons getting eaten," Gert hypothesized as she and Old Lace poked their heads into the room. "Mind if I watch?"

"You can hear the TV from downstairs?" Oh god did she have super hearing? Did she hear Stiles getting friendly with himself an hour ago?

No, but that posed some really awkward questions about kids at boarding school who did have super hearing. Oh dear.

"I try to pay extra attention to mauling noises," Gert replied as she and Old Lace came inside and found a spot on the couch. Well, Gert found a spot. Old Lace found some comfy floor. "And the yells of 'Brah, that's my leg, brah!' gave it away."

"I guess it is a distinctive noise." Stiles lifted up his cell phone and gestured to Old Lace. "Can I get a picture of him? I'm sending it to a werewolf, so you don't have to worry about some government ET thing."

"Dinosaur girl," Tony greeted. Because why not?

"I usually go by Gert, actually," Gert said dryly. "And this is Old Lace. Ten points to you if you can guess what kind she is."

Maybe this was a town full of dinosaur experts! It would explain Victor.

"Hi, how's your ... dinosaur?"

Yeah, Gert was going to need to talk about that a lot.

"Eventually something cooler than an eighty-seventh-century deinonychus is going to happen in this town and the novelty is going to wear off," Gert sighed, mostly as a reminder to herself. "She's fine. How are you doing?"

"Is this what people do Friday nights here?" Bay asked, as she claimed a seat on the couch. "... and is that a bear?"

"This is what Stiles does on Friday nights." Normal teenagers probably went out, had dates, didn't get into awkward fake relationships with werewolves. "And yes. An irradiated bear."

"Oh, of course," Bay nodded. "'Cause making a movie about a normal bear would just be silly."

Nope, she still wasn't a sci-fi fan.

"So ... I'm guessing Stiles is your name? I'm Bay."

"I'm sure it could be worse."

But Emily was soon doubting that, so she also shrugged as she offered a small smile. "I mean, somehow?"

Bay snorted. "It could be a TV that only got meta Full House reruns?"

Emily entered the room, readied a polite, proper and nice thing to say to Stiles, and then noticed the movie. In that order.

Whatever she was going to say was long forgotten.

"I thought only people from TV shows had a thing for watching purposely bad movies."

"What?" That was crazy logic. "People have been purposely watching bad movies since the 50's."

"No seriously, it's like a theme." She had seen this, and watching TV was one of these things Emily hadn't really stopped doing. "So apparently I've been hanging out with the wrong crowd."

And that was true in many ways.

Emily clapped her hands together as if she had just thanked some merciful, understanding god. "And thanks for that right? The world is bad enough with a single Jersey Shore. I didn't think they were that close to reality though; Now I have to start looking for more similarities."

And probably lose her mind over how many she was likely to find in Fandom.
