Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [09/30].
Well, now, that was an exciting weekend. It wasn't every day that a simple Letterkenny farmboy found himself on the edges of creatin' what he could only imagine would be quite the international incident. And Wayne found he didn't really much care for excitement, anyway, so, while he really was going to miss having Katy around, he was mostly just glad to have things go back to normal again.
Normal fer this place, anywhey.
He got up a little extra early this morning, too, jus' in case he had to go and beat Nina to the punch, not realizing that it wouldn't even be an issue this week. Still, he was glad to see the common room empty when he got there, and he set to the task of getting breakfast started. Because Katy'd mentioned it, he even thought of doing French toast, since apparently Nina made her some (and it had involved cabbage!), but everyone knew French toast was just a waste of time, so fuck all that. He was sticking with the standards: pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit, so on, so forth. And he had something to do, and it was productive, and so he was feeling pretty alright.

Vette, at least, was looking better today than she had been yesterday. Which was mostly one part 'thank goodness all the people are gone' and one part relief to see that Wayne, at least, was doing well enough today to be up to his usual breakfast shenanigans.
Even if there was that low-key bead of worry about Nina up and taking off in the dead of night. She kind of just figured Nina knew what she was doing, right?
Right.

"Good!" he answered, and he did mean it, already going to fix Vette up a plate. "N'you?"

And the resulting being killed dead that would have happened, likely.

"And I didn't even kneecap anybody," Vette agreed, grinning proudly at that.
... That was such a low bar, Vette.

But guess today was going to be different, because here he was, wearing some tie-dyed hipster nonsense t-shirt and red shorts as he padded in, rubbing the heel of his hand over one bleary eye before his other senses decided to wake up, and --
"Jesus Chriiiist, it smells amazing in here. That's unfair, man."
no subject
"Unfair how?" he asked, and then gave the other guy a nod, because the question sort of ruined the cadence of Wayne's usual greeting, but, in cases like that, a nod worked to set things on track and he added: "How are ya now?"
no subject
So he maybe hadn't guessed there was any sharing involved. And also he was rambly as shit when he'd only just woken up. Sorry.
Also, fuck, did all of that sound like an accusation? He held up his hands, just a bit. "But it's cool, man, you do you. Good for you."

Was he embarrassed? Also yes.
He'd spent the last month or so trying to just be cool with his new surroundings, you know, after the first two weeks off waiting for the fever dream to pass until he'd accepted it wasn't going to. And he was getting pretty good at it!
But guess it still didn't work this early in the day. "Uh... Good morning," he said, trying to save face.

that is TOTALLY ABOUT to be offered in another thread, his plans had been a little derailed.Which, conveniently, meant that he got to follow his nose down a floor that morning and walk into the third floor common room.
"Please tell me you're sharing," he said. "That smells amazing."
no subject
"Plenty to go around," he assured him. "How are ya now?"
no subject
"Good! Better, now, since I don't have to scrounge up a stale poptart," he said, with a grin. "Only really bad thing about coming to school here is missing out on my sister's cooking. You do this often, or is this a special occasion?"

Ulysses was pretty happy with this free breakfast situation, yes. And apparently it led to interjections like the above.
He'd also almost entirely finished the piece of pancake he'd been chewing on, so it was only a little muffled!

exceptionally cuteboy a smile and waved with his fork. "All of a sudden, I'm glad I've got a job on Mondays now if it means I get to wake up in time for this."... Because without the job, he would still absolutely be sleeping in, even knowing that breakfast was a thing.

On the other (gloved) hand, this meant Tisarwat was not stuck with a Presger Translator for however long it would have taken to get back to the Radch.
It felt very much like a coin with both sides the same, but a decent silver lining.
After all, things weren't terrible here; they weren't great, but she actually did enjoy things like Monday Morning Breakfast, even if she really didn't eat breakfast, especially not with the wave of disappointment that hit her over the fact that Wayne was cooking instead of Nina. She hoped that wasn't a one-time thing, unless she could start on getting Wayne to wear gloves, but...Tisarwat was an excellent strategist. She knew how to pick her battles."
At least there was tea, though, and as she came in with her flask, heading toward her usual spot on the couch, she took in a few not-typical faces and nodded. "Morning," she said, " if anyone wants tea..." She held up her flask. "I've brought some."
no subject
"I'd have some tea!" he declared. "Tisarwat. How are ya now?"
no subject
"I'm alright," she said, nodding, "thanks. How about yourself? Did you have any visitors this weekend?"

"Now there's a good friend," he noted with a faint grin of approval. A grin that might have actually gotten a tiny bit bigger as he looked over to give her a nod. "Shuri. How are ya now?"

Delirium. Just Delirium.
He hoped everything was okay.
