The Roof; Sunday Afternoon (And BEYOND!) - 05/07.

With the last party they had down at the pool, Graham had made a few hints and allusions to another, second party before the start of the summer session, and, well, now was the time! After mentioning it on radio and spreading the word at the picnic and of course spreading around handwavey flyers and texts, the circle was now complete, as they met the "End of the Semester" party with a "Start of the Semester" party! And while one was underneath the dorms, this one would be on top of it!

So, of course, the roof was decked out with decorations of a very summer-y nature, since that was the semester they were heading into, with music playing to match that vibe, a few beach balls and beach umbrellas floating around, too. And, of course, a table with a lot of moddable snacks, drinks, and Graham's proudest touch: a Neapolitan style sheet cake with the words "LET'S ALL HAVE A SUN-SATIONAL SUMMER!!" written on it, and, below it, in parentheses: "(Seas the Day!)"

So come on up, make the porg intern happy, and have a good time celebrating the start of the semester with a good party, a great view, and even better friends!

Yesterday had definitely given Eleanor a lot to process about this whole new school thing, the least of which was that she'd already been invited to a party. But, because that seemed so minute compared to the fact that she was in different century, that not being weird seemed to make you the odd man out, that so much about her life and especially the last few months would have been so completely different if she'd wound up somewhere like here before instead of St. Brigid's....well, that just made it easier to deal with. Handle the small things first, then tackle the bigger issues...

Of course, she hadn't really been to a lot of parties before, and the last one she did go to ended up in a complete disaster. Well, perhaps not complete, and it was a different kind of party, but still. She wanted to skip out on it, actually, stay in her room, read a little poetry, and not deal with having to go through all these social boarding school hoops all over again. But she knew doing so would probably set the tone of the rest of her time at this school, so she put on a nice dress and found her way up to the roof, where she had a drink in her hand that she barely touched and tried not to get too distracted by the view of the island from up here.

"Okay, please tell me you're new and I haven't been that oblivious to miss you the last month or so," TJ opened with.

"Hello!" Charlie said cheerfully, "Welcome to Fandom and our little pre classes party. I'm Charlie Gale and I think you're going to like it here."

On the one hand, a party on the roof meant Libby felt a little less awkward as she did at the pool in a swimsuit, but there did seem to be a bigger risk of people falling off.

She wasn't actually that worried about it (especially if people like Kurt or Gray showed up!), but it was something she thought of a little as she went to have some cake and found a nice spot to sit and enjoy it with the view.

Someone was thinking of the blue mutant boy? Well look who showed up!

"Is this spot taken?" Kurt asked with a grin as he walked over to where Libby was sitting.

Charlie saw Libby and came bounding over. "Libby! I'm glad you're here!"

Kurt was excited for the start of the summer classes, and a party seemed like a good way to kick everything off. And the first party Graham and Charlie had hosted had been a lot of fun, so Kurt was there and ready for a fun time with whoever showed up.

"Kurt! Hey!" Graham beamed when he saw his friend show up, waving before heading over to avoid just shouting at each other from across the roof. Which he would definately do, but that wasn't the point.

"How's it going? Glad you could make it!"

"Hey, not-dad! How's it going?" TJ perched next to him.

"Hey Kurt!" Charlie said cheerfully. "I'm so glad you came!"

Gray had made it to the party!

This was exciting because he had first fallen asleep on the stairs to the roof. He hoped no one had had to step over him to get to said party, but he also hoped most of the denizens of the dorm knew by now that they could just...shove him out of the way. It wasn't like he would wake up.

But now he had made it!...and was considering another nap under one of those beach umbrellas. It looked so inviting.

Any and all rooftop party naps were acceptable! And even welcome! Especially if it was Gray doing the napping!

But for the moment, Graham was just pleased to see his roommate up and about....and not only for the potential help with rooftop safety thanks to his wings.

"Gray! You made it! Awesome! Hi!"

Well, if it would make the porg happy...

Of course Belle made her way up to the roof for the party. Why wouldn't she? It was a nice day and Graham would be there and he was always a delight to talk to you and there would be food, again!

Besides, her opportunities for this sort of gathering were dwindling.

"Belle, hey!" The porg wasn't the only one who was happy; Graham was clearly as pleased as punch by the events, as well. "Thanks for coming! Ready to bring in the summer semester?"

"Belle! It's good to see you," Charlie said with a smile. "Isn't this fun?"

Charlie was here with her guitar and her mandolin ready to have fun and enjoy the party.

"And the best part of the party had arrived!" Graham announced happily.

Did he mean the live music, or just Charlie herself?

Couldn't it be both?

Yeah, okay, TJ was here for this! She'd been a bit of a hermit lately, but a start-of-semester party seemed like the perfect time to show up.

"TJ! Hey!" Graham sent a wave flying her way. "How've you been? Good to see you! Welcome to the party!"

"T.J.! Ready to make some music later?" Charlie had brought both her guitar and her mandolin to the party.

It was a sun's out, gun's out kind of day, so here was Vi, ready to catch some rays at the party.

"Whoo! Vi!" Graham called out in greeting when he spotted her. "Welcome to the last awesome party before the summer session starts!"

"Hi Vi!" Charlie called. "Good to see you!"

Guillermo was definitely there at the party and looking forward to it.

He had definitely never thought he’d be looking forward to one party let alone two. It was definitely a nice change from his last school.
