With the last party they had down at the pool, Graham had made a few hints and allusions to another, second party before the start of the summer session, and, well, now was the time! After mentioning it on radio and spreading the word at the picnic and of course spreading around handwavey flyers and texts, the circle was now complete, as they met the "End of the Semester" party with a "Start of the Semester" party! And while one was underneath the dorms, this one would be on top of it!

So, of course, the roof was decked out with decorations of a very summer-y nature, since that was the semester they were heading into, with music playing to match that vibe, a few beach balls and beach umbrellas floating around, too. And, of course, a table with a lot of moddable snacks, drinks, and Graham's proudest touch: a Neapolitan style sheet cake with the words "LET'S ALL HAVE A SUN-SATIONAL SUMMER!!" written on it, and, below it, in parentheses: "(Seas the Day!)"

So come on up, make the porg intern happy, and have a good time celebrating the start of the semester with a good party, a great view, and even better friends!

[[ and it's an OCD-free party weekend, y'all! ]]

In case you hadn't heard, either via the flyers that had been plastered around the dorms, the text messages sent out that morning, the radio or the announcements being made from the desk yesterday, there was a party in the dorms that day! Down by the pool, specifically! With no classes to attend to, all that was left to do was come on down and have a good time!

There were decorations! There was pizza! There were drinks in coconuts, and some music pumping, and none of them had anywhere school-related they needed to be! Time to celebrate another successful semester in the books.

Water you waiting for? Come make a splash!

Well, the old roof was certainly getting a workout this week.

After what had happened yesterday, Vi had retreated back to where she knew Steph couldn't follow, and now she was sitting on the edge of the building near the small garden up there, legs dangling over the side, resolutely not looking down into town.

This was fine. It was all fine, it wasn't like she'd just ruined everything because she couldn't be happy with what she had.

[Open roof is open, not that Vi's great company right now.]

Libby's grandmother had been sending her a small weekly allowance, knowing that a little spending money could make living away from home a little easier, and she was mostly saving up that money for an emergency (or, if she was honest with herself, to maybe buy a new dress for the next school dance) or using it to buy stuff to make breakfasts and other meals in the common room. That morning, though, seeing as the nice little windfall was growing, she was a little tempted to head into town, into the pastry shop, and maybe treat herself to something that she might otherwise never splurge on.

But even as soon as she thought about it, she felt guilty about it. It was kind of selfish, wasn't it? Especially on a Sunday. Not to mention just sort of careless, not a very useful use of her funds at all.

There was, thankfully, a good solution to handling her sudden sweet tooth and her worry about being waste and self-serving, and that was obviously to just head to the store to pick up what she needed and make something, which would not only be more cost effective, but that she could share with everyone else, too.

And she had no doubt that the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the common room would get at least a few people's attention.

She just hoped she didn't end up burning them, and had to remind herself to let them cool first before adding the icing.

[[ will work eat me? Probably! Will I let that stop me? Heck no! Open common room is open! ]]

Vi had been here long enough that her hair was starting to grow out on her left and shaggy (well, shaggier) on the right, and there was no way she was getting back to sleep after the rough night she'd had. She figured she might as well take advantage of the multiple mirrors in the larger baths and access to actual, sharp scissors to clean things up a little.

So now she was standing angled between two mirrors, passing the scissors from hand to hand as she tried to trim her hair into submission. It still wasn't going to be as close and neat as Vander had always got it, but it sure beat trying to do it entirely by touch with a rapidly blunting shiv.

[Open girls' bathroom is open.]

Even though things seemed like they might be improving between Libby and her roommate after last weekend, she still liked to give Vi her space, and, by now, Libby was just used to spending most of her time, albeit handwavily, in the common rooms or elsewhere. She was definitely starting to feel the ache of homesickness, though, and so she figured she might take care of some of that by writing some letters to send off, trying her best to detail things for her mother, for her siblings, for Zo (who would no doubt tease her a little for writing a letter when she could just text or call, but Libby knew she would appreciate the quaintness of it all the same) without ending up with whole novels for them to read.

There was a lot to be said, though! So she made herself a mug of hot chocolate, since it just seemed to really complete the whole experience, sat down at the table with a notebook and a ready pen, and got to recounting how her first month here in the outside world seemed to be shaping up for her, with the copy of the book she was reading for her books and movie class on hand, as well, because she figured, when she finished with the letters, she would go ahead and get started on that second read-through of it, since she'd pretty much already devoured it at least one.

[[ open common room is open for some lazy Sunday SP! ]]
