Sunday Evening - Fifth Floor Common Room

After handwavy shopping for supplies and food, Peter and Isabel decorated the Common Room and hung a banner across the back saying  "Congratulations on Surviving Our First Week of Classes!"  

A big cake of whatever flavour you want to mod saying much the same thing, soda, chips, and lots of other food were laid out on the table along with poppers, kazoos, noisemakers, and other party favours and games.

In short, the Common Room was set up for a big Student Council sponsored party for all students old and new.

Cassie read the sign as she came in.

"Has there ever been a problem with people not surviving the firs week?"

"Surprisingly, no. At least not yet," Isabel said, waving the noisemaker about.

"So you gave up on the whole dead person job?" Cassie joked.

"Oh yeah," she nodded. "It was such a dead end job. Now I've moved on to my StuCo job."

"Stucco? You're doing construction?" Cassied joked.

"Well, no, but we want to be safe. Plus, some people disappear."

"Like, turn invisible disappear or just vanish disappear?" Cassie asked,

"I'm guessing the later but wouldn't it be freaky if there were all these invisible people around?"

Cassie thought for a second. "That would be really, really creepy."

Peter grinned. "No, but why not celebrate anyway?"

Cassie shrugged. "I can't think of a reason," she said.

"It seemed like a good idea," Peter said. "How's your first week, Cassie?"

"Other than getting detention? Pretty good," Cassie said.

"Not yet, that I know of... which is also a a reason to have a party."

"Eep!" Cassie said. "I didn't mean to."

Charlie grinned. "Just kidding. Rule number one...no wait." He thought about it for a moment. "Rule number five, any excuse for a party is a good and probably totally made up excuse for a party, so it's probably better to go with it and get as much free food as possible."

"Yeah, the free food thing really should be in the brochures," Cassie said. "I've really been enjoying it. Oh, I'm Cassie, by the way."

"Hello new person!" Peter said. "It's the second week that usually does people in, actually."

"I'll have to stick it out, then," she said. "Hi. Cassie Lang."

"I'm Peter Number 1, also known as Parker, one third of your student council representatives if you are a junior," Peter said by way of introduction. "Nice to meet you, Cassie."

Cassie did a bit of a deer in the headlights. "Like, Daily Bugle Peter Parker?"

"Not in weeks and weeks," Tyler avowed. "Maybe even a semester."

"Yikes," Cassie said. "That's... slightly worrying."

"It is," Tyler said, managing to keep his face utterly straight. "But you look tough. You'll make it."
