Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

Wednesday night found Firekeeper and Blind Seer, as usual, in the common room for their weekly dose of Darkest Night.

At first, tonight's episode had looked especially promising, as the plot claimed to center around a girl who'd been raised by wolves.

Within minutes, though, there was a somewhat annoyed-looking girl who actually had been raised by wolves throwing the occasional piece of popcorn at the screen.

Those weren't even real wolves they were using!

Now that he was no longer a bird, Merlin was there to watch the horrible programs as well.

Not that being a bird would stop him, but... oh, never mind.

"Hullo, Lady Blysse."

"Merlin! Without feathers!" Tony waved at him.

"Tony!" Merlin greeted him right on back with a wide grin. "Also without feathers."

"I rarely have feathers," Tony told him. "How long've you been back to opposable thumbs?"

"Merlin," she stopped glaring at the screen to look over at him. "You is back in your proper shape!" this, at least, was good enough news to momentarily clear the annoyed expression from her face.

"I got back to it this morning," Merlin informed her happily. "Having a voice again is the best part, I think."

"You had voice as bird," Firekeeper pointed out. "Just different one."

Tony was snickering. "I guess their wolves are about as accurate as their vampires and wizards."

"Not even real wolves!" Firekeeper grumbled. "Just, just..." she fumbled, trying to remember the word. "Toys!" it wasn't quite it, she knew, but close enough.

"Looks like they're using puppets," Tony agreed. "Except for that one. That's a guy in a costume." It seems they'd found a use for the gorilla suits after all.

Claire wandered in after closing the store. She didn't always watch Darkest Night, but she'd seen enough to recognize the show and notice the popcorn-throwing. "Is that episode worse than usual?"

"They get things all wrong," Firekeeper declared. "Is not even close to truth!"

Claire glanced from the angry girl to the TV screen, then to the ... oh my god, the girl's big dog really was a wolf.

"So I guess you're the wolf expert?" her comment had less sarcasm than it usually would have.

"Hey," Tony waved. "No worse than usual, I'd say."

"So, dumb and predictable but kind of weirdly entertaining?" Claire asked, flopping into a chair. "I can hang out here."

Merlin... hid as best he could from his spot on the couch. There was no avoiding this, was there? "Hello, Claire."

"Hey Merlin," Claire answered, looking just slightly startled he'd spoken to her first. "So, uh ... feeling better?"

That covered both 'not a bird' and 'not gay or Irish' without getting too specific, didn't it?

Francine came snackless tonight. Possibly that had something to do with having worn out her baking itch for the week on a certain Prince Pricklypants. Or maybe she just knew there'd be popcorn. "Hey! You do know you're supposed to eat that, right?"

"Am eating!" in between throwing!

Blind Seer let out a noise that sounded... suspiciously like a sigh.

Francine giggled. "Is it that bad?"

"Francine!" Look at Merlin flounce run hurry on over.

"Merlin!" Francine's eyes opened wide, and she let out a laugh that was half relieved, half nervous. "You have ears again." ....She'd meant to say hands. She'd really, really meant to say hands.

Turtle was boooored and checking out other common rooms. "Oh, hey!" she commented as she came in and had a seat. "It's that one show with that guy that those people always watch."

"Hello, Turtle," Firekeeper was about to say something more when one of the "wolves" on screen let out a howl. "That not wolf!" she complained. "Is a dog noise."

She was taking this whole thing rather personally.

Turtle couldn't help grinning a little.

"A bit of an enthusiast, Blysse?"

Yes, she knew the girl walked around with a big wolf. Turtle was trying her hand at understatement.
