Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening

As usual, Sushi Station had gone way overboard, which meant that tonight the common room had quite the spread. Which Gert didn't mind, because she had been craving a cream cheese and avocado roll something fierce lately, and that apparently meant that Old Lace had been too. And Gert was nice enough to share.

Parentless Grey was on, Old Lace was curled up in front of the couch, and a whole tray of sushi was laid out for the taking as Gert continued the marathon she had started this morning.

What? It was a really good show.

[[open! i want sushi.]]

Crocodile Pit campfire, Sunday night

Snow had lived in a castle most of her life. Just not an inflatable one. She was worried about puncturing the strange material it was made out of, so she was very careful about not bringing anything sharp inside as she claimed a corner as her own.

Fortunately, she did know how to light a fire. It wasn't cold out, but the light it provided was nice, and she felt more comfortable sitting outside rather than inside, not just because of the weirdness of the bouncy castle, but just because she could be outside.

She idly poked at the small fire with a stick, then leaned back to look up at the stars.

Second Floor Common Room, Friday Afternoon

In the semester that she'd been here, Gert had learned that there were basically two reasons to be in a common room: to watch a bad movie or to try to pawn bagels off on people. Today, shockingly, was an example of neither.

No, today she had Chinese food to give away (seriously, what was it with the delivery guys in this town and bringing way more food than any one person needed?) and the movie she was watching, about a fish looking for his son, was actually pretty good. Imagine that.

Old Lace seemed personally moved by this movie. She was making whimpery noises at the sad parts and everything.

Second Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

"The Maple Leafs have made the playoffs!"

Anna was just...going to be sitting here looking slightly shocked at the television. She'd only been not locked in her house for a little over a year now, but she was still pretty sure this was not how it was supposed to go.

"What?" she asked of the universe. "I just--What?"

((Open common room is open, and WHAT IS THIS SEASON?))

Roof, Sunday Evening

William wasn't typically given to brooding, but having a physical representation of one's soul manifest was... certainly sobering. To say the least. Yesterday he'd spent the majority of his time by himself (or, well, as by himself as was possible, all things considered), but today he'd felt the need to get out for a bit.

He wasn't quite in the mood for television in a common room, though, so he was up on the roof, Merak the gibbon scampering about the edge, and him not trying to think of the possibility of her falling off it.

[ooc: roof and post open!]

2nd Floor Common Room | Tuesday Evening

Jim's hearing was just now starting to come back. That was an exaggeration but he'd swear up and down that the early morning fire drill had caused permanent damage to his hearing and he should be assigned a personal assistant (preferably a very pretty, very female one) just to help him through the rough times.

But, he figured that request would be turned down since the school probably spent their entire budget on free food. Jim would take that trade off. He was a fan of free food and he wasn't shy about that.

His trip to the common room this week had yielded some pasta dish that he'd found in the refrigerator (and managed to heat up without starting a fire) and some documentary about mobsters.

It wasn't Cactibear but what was?

Dorm Hallways & Stairwells, Late Monday Night

Somewhere on the sixth floor, late enough that all good little boys and girls should be snug in their beds, she appeared, flickering like an image on a television trying to fight its way out of the screen and into reality: Anna Dressed in Blood. Or perhaps, since her name was far from common knowledge on this island, The Girl in White. Girl of Nightmares, Girl From Hell. Anna didn't know what they called her, and she didn't care. She'd been here for months now, and the most the majority of the island would ever see of her was this:

She moved slowly through the dorms, up and down the halls and down the stairs, through each floor in turn, her feet dragging horribly, like she couldn't use them at all. Dark, purplish veins cut through her dead white skin, and her eyes were like oil drops, making it impossible to tell where she was or wasn't looking, or if there was any intelligence behind that gaze. Her hair was shadowless black, moving through the air as though suspended in water, snaking out and behind and drifting like reeds. It was the only thing about her that looked alive.

Her dress was mostly white, the blood only dripping down the front to stain the floor and rapidly soak in and disappear. It should have been a gown of moving blood, but no one in the dorms knew that, just like they didn't how much of an act of will it was to hold back. She didn't want them to guess how dangerous she really was. Let them think her an aimless spirit, wandering because she didn't know she was dead. Let the grotesque, shuffling thump of her steps disturb their slumber, or the creak of her hand on the banister, let them lie in their bed and wonder if they could hear each fat drop of blood from her dress strike the floor or if it was just their imagination. Let them tell tales about her, and let those that had seen her remember and feel a shiver they wouldn't admit to in the light of day. She was just a ghost, after all. Completely harmless. Let them think that.

She reached the end of her journey eventually, walking straight through the closed lobby door and out into the night. Anyone looking out their window on that side of the dorm might see her, in her bloodstained dress, float across the lawn in the moonlight, her dragging stride seemingly forgotten, before she turned and looked back at the dorms, something like a smile flickering on her black, lifeless lips. And then she flickered out and was gone.

That should do for now.

Roof of Emo, Sunday Morning

It was Mothers Day, which meant everyone--or, it seemed like everyone--was busy calling their mothers to wish them a happy Mother's day and make sure their gifts had arrived or whatnot. Anna...well, aside from the fact that her mother had died of a heart attack more than fifty years ago, and hadn't been much of a mother when she was alive, she had also cut Anna's throat and made a deal with a demon to curse her spirit. So no, Anna wasn't so much with celebrating Mothers Day. Instead, she found herself on the roof, sitting on the ledge with her feet dangling over empty air, gazing out toward the sea and trying not to think about her mother any more than she had to.

((Open roof is open!))

Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening

A trip in to town to see about exchanging money had led to the discovery of a post office. Remembering his discussion with Stacey yesterday, he'd decided on a whim to check it out, and had been assured that, yes, despite the time difference, any letters he wrote would reach home. After all the strangeness at the welcome picnic, he'd been inclined to believe it.

And so he was in the common room, writing a half-dozen dispatches to various people back home to assure them that he was, in fact, alive and well. Just not where he'd expected to be. Once he finished those letters, he figured he could check out the television, since his previous experience with the device had been rather brief.

The Roof of the Dorms, Thursday Evening

Today was April the twenty-sixth.

It didn't mean anything to most people. It was a Thursday, a few days before graduation. A day for packing, maybe, or catching up with people you wouldn't see again for at least the summer. Anna didn't know exactly what everyone else was doing. She hadn't really noticed.

Because for Anna, April the twenty-sixth was the day she had died.

She sat on the roof, on the ledge, her feet dangling over six stories of nothing, as she had all day, and she remembered the things she hadn't been able to remember for so many years, things she almost wished she didn't remember now.

Cut for length and remembered violence )

And she hadn't. Not until Cas came. And now she was pretty sure the house was gone, and she was here, but she was still trapped and she was still dead, and today she just had to wonder how much it mattered.

(Open emo roof is open! And emo! Events under the cut taken and paraphrased from Anna Dressed in Blood. If you are remembering my original infopost for Anna and thinking this isn't right, you are correct! I had originally given her a deathday in February, but I moved it because I came to my senses and realized she wouldn't have been walking to a school dance in a thin cotton dress in Toronto in February.))

Around the Dorms, Monday Morning

The Freedom Costumes uniforms had been given out, the teachers had been prepped, and everything was as set as could be for the school board's special guests to arrive and start their tour. Zoe wasn't one for prayer, but it seemed like that was all she could do at this point. And hope that Annie wasn't the kind of person who needed caffeine to function.

[This post is for the tour of the dorms/school, for Annie, the Howells, any school board members who want to supervise come along, and any students who want to be in the dorms during the tour. There will be a tour of the town posted this afternoon!]

2nd Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

Watching television was always an interesting experience if you asked Loki. Tonight was no different as America's Next Top Model was on.

"I was far more attractive than any of these girls," Loki decided, settling in to watch them bad-mouth each other during the confessionals.

And he could walk better as either gender, thank you.

Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Anna wasn't really very good at the whole 'sense of time' thing, the product of not sleeping or eating and having been stuck in a house alone for so very long. She was getting better about it as she went along, but she was sure she'd missed some of her classes and work shifts along the way, and while she knew today was a Sunday, she hadn't realized it was Easter just yet.

She had, however, realized that it was the end of hockey season, and felt bad about forgetting she could keep up with it now. So she was flipping through the sports and news channels, trying to find something that could bring her up to date and thinking that she really had to learn to use a computer one of these days. She bet there was more information there.

Competitive cheerleading (That was a thing? The twenty-first century was so weird)...golf...English soccer...aha! Hockey news!...wait. "That can't be right," she informed the TV. "How can the Maple Leafs not have made the playoffs? They're from Toronto! They're supposed to be good at this!"

Oh, Anna, sweetie. You have so much to learn.

((Open like a common room with a slightly crestfallen ghost in it on Easter morning! This video is always relevant.))

2nd Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

The television was on in the common room. And there was a tiny god watching it.

That was not the strange part of what was happening, though. The strange part was what was on the television. It was a channel that proclaimed itself to be 'Logo' and the players upon the stage were men in dresses and made up as though they were women.

And yelling at each other quite a bit.

"Huh." He could only wonder if his brother knew of this.

[ooc: Open like a common room!]

4th Floor Hallway, Thursday Night

Freddie sometimes should not be left to his own devices.

With the combined power of garbage bags, duct tape, and industrial sized bottles of, erm, personal lubricant (hey, he was the iCarly technical producer, this was not his first time needing that sort of thing), the entire hallway was now a giant slip-n-slide.

Some mattresses on either end made sure no one would end up dying.

For now, though, he was just going to be in his swim trunks and penguin sliding up and down the hallway. Because he could.

"Pantalones!" he cried, because that's how Freddie Benson rolled.

[ooc: Open to anyone still in the dorms! Chaos cleared with the admins.]

Second Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

Anna had takeout.

Anna had a lot of takeout, from about half of the restaurants in town, and while she didn't expect she could eat all of it, especially not after pancakes (with lots of butter and syrup and bacon) for breakfast and a cheeseburger (also with bacon) and fries and a chocolate milkshake (oh, chocolate) for lunch, she intended to at least try to sample everything. Because food, as it turned out, was even more delicious than she remembered, and she hadn't been able to decide, so she just...bought all of it.

Since she didn't stand a prayer of eating all of this, she was more than happy to share, but if anyone tried to touch the brownies she'd gotten at J,GoB, she'd probably take your hand off.

"Okay, so what's Pad Thai?" she muttered to herself, and then took a bite.

Pad Thai, as it turned out, was delicious.

((Open common room is open! And full of food.))

Third Floor Common Room: Monday Evening

Matt has been out on the rooftops, trying to burn off some extra energy only to come back to his room and find out that he had been sexiled. Again.

"You've got to be kidding me," Matt groaned as he flopped onto one of the couches. "This is the second night in a row."

He fiddled with the remote for a few minutes before it got he found a "Dirty Jobs" marathon.

"Huh. Ironically appropriate."

Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

So after their...uh, the movie they'd seen last night, Topher and Billy had handwavily or not, it depends headed back to the common room to watch a Space Battles marathon. And... apparently they'd fallen asleep there.

Waking up, Topher opened his eyes, slowly lifted his head off of Billy's shoulder (what? He was comfy!), took in the room, and shrieked at the top of his lungs.

"OH MY GOD!"

[[open like a weird weekend common room, omg. no, i did not set an alarm to wake up and post this. YOU CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING.]]

Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Ever since the broadcast on Monday showcasing Daala's brutal violent response to slave uprisings, Ender had been busy: busy writing emails, busy coordinating with his people in Ben's universe, busy privately worrying about where all of this would lead - with or without him.

But eventually he'd run out of things to do, as impossible as it had seemed at the start of the week. Somehow, that message hadn't quite reached his brain, for he still felt jittery and concerned; keeping a lid on it around Ben had just made it worse.

So in an effort to calm down, he decided to hit up the common room for breakfast today. Got two packages of microwavable pancakes out of the fridge and opened them up, using his deft microwaving skills to produce a stack - mostly in hopes of luring in someone to talk to.

Unlike certain people of his acquaintance, he didn't actually care much about the taste of his breakfast.

2nd Floor CR, Saturday Night

It was a lazy kind of Saturday night, but Tara had learned to cherish those on the island. She was still thinking about Loki's offer of trying a blood magic spell to teleport. It probably wasn't smart, but at the same time, it wasn't like you tried dark magic once and instantly went evil, right? She was in control.

In an attempt to be social and to quit worrying about magic, she had ordered a pizza -- veggie deluxe, no green peppers -- and had it delivered to her common room. She was going to munch a piece and watch a rerun of Chuck Chip until somebody told her to stop.

[OOC: Open common room, sort-of-method RP.]
