The 6th Floor, Friday Evening

Karla looked around and nodded in satisfaction. There was a big glittery banner that said "CONGRATULATIONS TAHIRI!" hung over one wall. She wasn't going to admit it, but playing the glue and glitter and paint had been a lot of fun. Though, with the residual glitter in her hair (and the occasional glittery hand print on the banner), someone might be able to tell.

There was one table completely devoted to ice cream (and wrapped in cold spells). The centerpiece was, of course, a giant ice cream cake with a frosted lightsaber on it. Karla couldn't make any guesses about how accurate it was, but there was a greyish hilt and a I was tempted to say red blue beam coming from the front. It was enough to get the point across, dammit. She'd had to explain to the Chilly Boulder guy what she meant by lightsaber anyway. Though he immediately knew who Ben and Tahiri were. The table wasn't entirely covered by ice cream, as Dinah had mentioned bringing some, too.

It's possible that there may be an ice cream shortage at Chilly Boulder tonight. Sorry.

In the kitchen, there was even more food; this time covered in warming spells. Mostly there were pizzas with a variety of toppings, but she'd also gotten some sides from most of the other restaurants in town. Someone wanted to have pizza with a side of lobster bisque and quesadillas? Totally not a problem. There were also a variety of drinks and, stashed away in the fridge, a few steaks and a chicken--raw, of course--for Blind Seer.

As far as she could tell, everything was done. And if not...well, they could cope. Now the only thing to do was wait for the guests to arrive.

...and try not to cut into the cake before they arrived. It did look good.

[For those invited, please! Up early for great SP justice! Hopefully I will be able to respond to pings, but making no promises. I am very susceptible to Quil, of both the Day and Night varieties. But I had to get this up. OCDon its way up!]

Gabrielle, go figure, was there before the guest of honor because I think I'm funny and I can so there she took this whole "support" thing seriously. She was cheerful, because she was Gabrielle, though the idea she'd gotten from her conversation with Sam yesterday was adding a certain "I Have Plans" aspect to her good mood.

And no, she wasn't going to try and sneak up on Tahiri; Karla had asked.

Maybe one of the other Jedi though . . .

Gabrielle didn't always have the best ideas.

It was a party, and Firekeeper truly did enjoy those. The fact that it was a party for Tahiri meant she was doubly glad to be there.

Blind Seer was less enthusiastic about parties as a whole, but Tahiri was a good friend, so here he was.

Of course Tahiri was here, being the guest of honor and all, although she looked more than a little self-conscious about it.

The ice cream cake was seriously impressive.

Jack was an idiot and thought today was Thursday night, so here he was, about to start using various kitchen appliances...until he saw all the people.

He managed to figure out: 1. It was the wrong day; and 2. the cake was not for him.

Still, he stuck around, because a party is a party!

Raven wasn't exactly comfortable around Tahiri, but Karla had called her and asked her to come, so she was there. Seeking out the guest of honor wasn't entirely on the top of her list of things to do, however.

Food! And party for Tahiri who deserved it! With cookies from J,GoB, to dip into the ice cream. Which she'd also bought extra of. Portability is very important in desserts.

Jaina would be leaving for... somewhere she didn't know yet after this, but she had to show. And once she'd seen the setup, wow did she immediately like Karla just for doing this.

Dinner is served--and by 'served,' Karla means you can get it yourself. She said it wasn't fancy, remember? Lots of pizzas, lots of handwavy other sides, plenty of also handwavy drinks.

Help yourself. Also, eat more. Karla bought a lot.

Tahiri had no problem with the lack of fancy food, personally. The last couple of fancy dinners parties she'd been to had been made of epic awkwardness. She had several slices of different kinds of pizza, along with a plate of assorted vegetables just to make Karla happy.

The ice cream lightsaber didn't look much like Tahiri's, but it was impressive nonetheless. It seemed wrong to eat that cake somehow . . . at least until someone else took a piece first.

She'd just stare at it in awe for a while.

'Have Seconds' is perfectly acceptable. A 'Have Thirds' post would just be excessive.
