The Deck; Sunday Afternoon [05/26].

Even with things around the place going a bit loopy here and there, what with things like dinosaurs and flooding and apparently everyone but him and a small, select few being twenty years older for a weekend, and even with the utter lack of chorin' to be had, Wayne found himself settling into a bit of a rhythm around here, and for that, he was glad. It helped, having things to do, even if those things were just playing with dogs at the shelter or cooking breakfast on Monday mornings or having a smoke out on the deck on lazy Sundays, weather permitting.

The flooded island was a little bit scenic from here, too. And passing a few hours out here, dart at his lips, a mug of coffee in his hand, just sitting and watching ducks float by wasn't so bad, really. 'Bout how he'd spend the day back home, only without the produce stand and the usual motley crew. Good for collecting his thoughts, thinking about the week ahead, on how maybe he'd finally try swinging by that scrapyard, see if there was any work that needed doing.

But this, for now, wasn't so bad, really. Not so bad at all.
