The gun vending machine was still there. Maddie had really thought someone would have done something about this by now, and she had no idea what it meant that no one had. Could she blame the NRA for this?

She had to admit she was really curious, though, about what kind of weapons they actually had in vending machines, and also about what would happen if she actually got one. Normally she'd say that she was too poor to waste money on something she didn't even want like this, but she had found free money in a box, so she figured she was breaking even by putting the money in and hitting a few random buttons.

Once she had it, she looked around like she was expecting this to be some sort of sting operation. Apparently it wasn't. And you know, maybe she should have thought about what she was supposed to do with this thing now...

Mira hadn't really paid much attention to people today. She couldn't help but feel that she was a bit more pale than usual, but her hair was the bright red it always was, so she hadn't noticed anything too weird with herself. Okay, her legs were striped like candy canes, but she was wearing pants, thank you very much, so she couldn't exactly see that.

Anyway, there was some kind of holiday thing on TV and she wasn't freaked out enough by what she looked like to be adverse to it. It was a win-win situation, especially since she got to familiarize herself with whatever Earth's weird Life Day knockoff was.

[OOC: Open! Come, bright red and white, too!]

Isaac didn't particularly enjoy the whole influx of dudes on the island, if only because he found girls prettier to look at. Still, he was thankful that it hadn't been him that changed, even if he wouldn't have minded finding out what having boobs felt like.

In time, Isaac, in time.

Seeing that the hallways weren't filled with girls-turned-guys flipping out about their situation, Isaac risked going into the common room to score some free food. Namely popcorn. He was sure he'd be able to find a movie to go along with it soon enough. He could have sworn there was a channel that played nothing but slasher flicks somewhere.

It took Bay a while to figure out that this wasn't just one of those wacky weekends where she personally got to walk a mile in Daphne's shoes. But even after she knew everybody was deaf, she took one look at the demon-bird-things swooping down and decided she needed more cover than a freaking bouncy castle could provide. She grabbed a couple provisions and made her way back to the dorms, where she popped Deafenstein in the DVD player. Somehow, a bad ASL horror movie felt like comfort food today.

She sent out a quick email on the student listserv.

I know sign language and there are no creepy birds in the dorms. Come to the 3rd floor if you wanna watch a bad ASL horror movie with me.

... okay, so maybe that wasn't incredibly enticing, but it was what Bay had. She made enough popcorn to share and settled back to watch the movie.

[OOC: Very open CR. Email went to all the students. Deafenstein is a real movie in SaB, inspired by Deafula.]

Mira felt that she'd been dealing with Fandom pretty well so far. She hadn't freaked out about anything, she attended her classes, she did everything without much (if any) griping.

And then she saw her bouncy castle. Somehow, the seal was the most ridiculous part of it. "I'm not going on there. Not without a substantial bribe."

For the time being, she took the bag she had brought down from the dorms with her, set it on the ground near the campfire, and decided to use that as a seat while she lit the fire and tried not to look at the tiny elephant on the castle.

[OOC: It's a lazy Sunday and I failed to wake up in the late afternoon, so I'm posting a bunch instead.]

So, Mira discovered something. Well, a couple things. First, she could apparently get Earth internet on her datapad, which was handy. Second, that on said Earth internet was a list of federally wanted fugitives that she could search for BY CATEGORY AND LOCATION. It was like Life Day in what she understood to be July.

At this point she had maps and writing tools to mark out where she was compared to where some of these wanted fugitives were located. Sure, with this planet's primitive technology they didn't stand a chance, but still, it would be fun.

For a very particular definition of fun.

[OOC: So, I'm not dying from work, heat, or migraine. So here's a CR, open if anyone's around!]

Mira had been laying low due to deadline hell since she arrived in Fandom. But she was done with that. She needed activity. She needed people. She needed a common room, with food from the restaurant with the spaciest name she could find (Pizza Planet), and some apparently big sporting event on the television.

That last one seemed dubious to Mira. Nobody was wearing the same uniform even though there were apparently two teams, there were long periods of inactivity before somebody so much as threw a ball, and nobody was attacking each other with their blunt weapons. How did anyone watch this stuff?

She grabbed a slice of pizza while she tried to figure out whether or not she should go with something completely different on the TV.

[OOC: Open, as you might expect!]
