Conner had missed the US women's national soccer team's game against Ireland last Sunday on account of being in the hospital at the time, but there was no way he was missing today's match against Canada.

Ergo, he was usurping the cool TV to do so.

He'd left his laptop behind in Anders's room, because soccer is a game that should not be sullied by such distractions, but he had stolen the orange juice and half the tray of muffins.

Camped out cross-legged on the floor just feet from the TV screen, Conner munched on a muffin and waited impatiently for the game to start. There was just half an hour of this pesky car show to go.

Bel awoke with a groan. The common room couch really wasn't big enough for him to sleep comfortably, so he'd tossed and turned all night. Wait -- why was he sleeping on the couch instead of going back to his room? He vaguely remembered not having his keys, but when he checked his pocket, he found them there. So why had he slept on the couch?

Then it all started coming back to him.

He sat up and held his head in his hands, groaning some more. Gremlins must die.

Sakurazaki only had six days. Six days wasn't much time at all, so she knew she'd have to work hard, and she'd have to work smart. At that meant starting out simply, with a light but fierce run through her meditations and forms with the practise swords in the gym. It had been a while since she'd had to utilize some of the more complicated forms; she'd need to refresh herself with them before taking them to live steel.

For some reason River felt compelled to throw kitchen knives at the wall. She made a point of not hitting Proty the octopus or the little fish, and was reasonably successful.

"Cutting through air," she mumbled as she hurled a knife. "Stuck." It hit the wall just above the octopus's head.

"Flying like deadly popcorn."

River spun around and threw another knife.

Pippi had come back from her trip into town with Molly to discover a bunch of holes in the wall, including one in Proty's eye.

Poor Protty!

So she flounced back into town to get a few supplies and was now patching the holes in the wall and painting over them.

She started with Proty's eye. Which she patched and then painted an eye-patch over it.

Then she added a goatee, a magnificent hat, and a hook on the end of one of his tentacles.

Meet Proty's cousin.

Obed.

She smiled at her handy work and got to work on the rest of the wall.

Sakurazaki had spent all morning in the gym. All afternoon as well. And she intended on returning after this, but she was still half-human and needed a bit of rest and a lot of food. She set about making something simple. Rice, noodles, steamed vegetables, and green tea. And she made extra, just in case someone did show up. She wasn't certain if anyone would really want any, but it seemed rude that, after mooching off so many others, if she didn't have anything to offer in return. Taking a seat at a table with her meager meal, she munched quietly while considering which direction to take her training for the next few days.

[[open; interaction from me may be slow, but that certainly doesn't mean others can't come around and play ^_^]]

Angela had spent most of the weekend holed up in her room, deliberately working her way through a Francesca Lia Block anthology and emerging only to sip oversweetened coffee and gaze soulfully at fruit salad.

But all good things must come to an end. Which is why she was in the common room, watching an I Love the 90's marathon on VH-1 and hoping someone would tell her she doesn't look that goofy.

Company would be welcome.
