Evie's having a *very* good day. She has a date for the Homecoming Dance. And somehow, she's been nominated for Sophomore court. It's probably a mistake, but still!

To celebrate, she's eating ice cream while doing her 21st Century homework. In a way. Spooky Things isn't a sitcom, but still...

Having no classes on Friday and plenty of trouble sleeping tonight, Peter walked out to the common room and turned on the television. "Infomercial. Informercial. Infomercial. Old TV show. Pleasantville. I guess you win."

Two minutes into the show, the picture suddenly faded. Peter tried using the remote to turn it back on, but he had no luck. Hitting the remote didn't help either. The third smack cracked and broke the remote. "Well, that's not good."

"TV repair?" asked a voice from behind him.

Peter turned around suddenly. "Um. Hey. Huh? How did you get up here?"

"I was told that your TV was busted," the repairman answered. "It's my job to fix it."

"But it just stopped working," Peter said.

"Then I'm just in time," the repairman said, turning the television around and fiddling with some thing inside it. "You know, a good television is like a good friend."

"I have no clue what that means and I'm going to go call security," Peter said.

"Done here!" the repairman said, causing Peter to turn back towards him. "And for now, use this remote. It should replace the other one just fine." Peter hesitantly took the remote. He didn't sense any danger, but this still seemed weird. "Go ahead back to your show. I'll bill your administration."

"Good night?" Peter said. He followed the repairman to the stairs and made sure he left. He would give Constable Fraser a call as soon as he tried out the television. His curiosity had gotten the best of him.

Peter walked back to the television and hit the power button on the remote.

He blinked and suddenly the world was in black and white, just as it should be. He also felt like he could get some sleep now, so he turned off the television and went back to his room to catch some last minute shut-eye.

[OOC: Establishy, not for interaction. This takes place in the middle of the night, around 2-3 AM. When people wake up, everything in Fandom - school AND town - will be in black and white and appear to be from the 1950's. Everyone will act, speak, and think as they normally do EXCEPT they'll have a mental block about the fact that the environment isn't normal. The coloring will be considered normal, the clothes will be considered normal, the hair will be considered normal, etc. Think of wee!weekend where the kids just accepted everything as it was. It's just 2006 dressed as the 50's (TM Hamlet).

The spell will break late, late Saturday night and everyone will retain their full memory of the weekend. At that point they can comment on the weirdness.

And because I've already been asked: cell phones will work as normal, but they'll look like more portable versions of 1950's era rotary phones. Television shows will be older version of current shows. For example, the only Galaxy Quest you'll be watching is the original version with crap sets, makeup, and dialogue. Think along those lines. And remember, that will all seem normal to your character until Sunday morning.]

It was a bright, sunshiney colorfree day and Eric was finishing up some homework before heading to the carnival. Galaxy Quest is on the television and Eric looks up every once in a while, marveling at the state-of-the-art special effects... even if the sets do wobble occasionally.

Chad stood in front of the stove in the suddenly rather idealic kitchenette in the third floor common room, wearing a rather frilly apron as he put the finishing touched on the dinner he was making for himself and Ranma. The frilly ones were the only ones he could find, but he didn't want to get any food on his snazzy black jacket. And he knew the common room wasn't probably an ideal place for a pre-homecoming dinner, but there were several factors to influence his decision. The odds were that everyone would be off doing their own dinner things elsewhere, or getting ready, so the traffic would hopefully be minimal. He also wanted to share with Ranma Mexican food, and wasn't familiar enough with the restaurants in the area to know if what they served was any good. And if you want something done right, do it yourself. The last consideration was a picnic...Mexican food didn't make for very good picnic foods. So the Third Floor Common Room it was, but Chad set it up so that it looked nice, tossing a table cloth over the table in the kitchenette, used fancy looking cups. He considered lighting some candles, but worried that they might suggest too much.

Now all he needed was his date.

[[ for Ranma, obviously, though it is a public space, which makes them interuptable, technically speaking. :P ]]
