The Stables: Friday afternoon

The portal dropped Karal and Altra out at the Causeway. A moment to simply enjoy being back - to stay, this time - and they were heading for the stables.
Trenor whickered when he saw Karal and stretched his neck out over the stall door. Frowning, Karal dropped his bag and slipped inside. "You don't look at all well," he said softly, running his hands across Trenor's back and down his legs, checking for injuries. The horse looked worn out, and his coat was a touch ragged, with rubbed patches of hair on his side, but didn't seem to actually be hurt.
Karal breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry I've been gone so much," he murmured, seeing nothing odd about apologising to a horse. Trenor snorted and pressed his head against Karal's chest. "That's done with now, I promise."
Feeling more than a little guilty, Karal got his dinner ready, then settled in to spend some time grooming, patting, and just generally fussing over him. Trenor really didn't seem to mind.
