Hinata, despite the fact that she had to live now with seven other people, was feeling more at ease. Yes, this wasn’t quite the same as mission back home, but a campfire at least held more than enough good memories of Kiba, of Shino, of Kurenai-sensei, that she didn’t feel quite so adrift at being here.

And Ino-san was around, that helped too. A familiar face, one that had always been kind enough to her.

She started a fire then sat close to it, feeding it twigs and thought about maybe, maybe going exploring later that day.

[Open as a campfire is!]

It had been a bit of an effort, but Cal forced himself out of bed early that morning to get back on track of things. Well wrapped and with his loosely fitting clothes, he did a bit of stretching and then headed over to the little gym enclosure, spotting out some weights and hoping to get a really good set and workout in before he had to even start worrying about his workshop later on.

He didn't know exactly how he felt working out in a public spot like this, but maybe it would be early enough that the place didn't get much traffic. Maybe he should move his workouts to late at night. No one would workout at night, but then he lost the feeling he got throughout the day of having known he'd done the work and could feel out whether it was helping to make his body seem less...what he didn't want it to seem.

[[ this would be assuming there be weights and stuff like the school gym, la. Open, of course ]]

The afternoon had seemed as good a time as any for Reno to wander out to the campfire after making sure all his crap was still in place in his alcove. Paranoia meant that he was going to be taking extra measures this summer to make certain that his things didn't walk off on him. Not that there was anyone in particular who he had his eye on, really, but when you grow up in a 'take what you can get' atmosphere, sometimes it's tough to get your head around it. He missed having a single room with a lock on the door already.

Which was why, when he finally wandered out of his alcove and to the campfire, it was with an armload of bottles. Tequila, scotch, rum, and Everclear. The important things in life. The stuff he'd be choked over if anyone happened to snatch them. Sharing, he was good by. Sure, he'd share. Light up a fire and hoard his booze, but share, sure.

Ah, first day of classes, a campfire lit, a stash of booze by his side, and not a class for Reno to worry about.

He could live with that.

[Open for all you afternoon drinkers. Or whoever. <3]

Amber had every intention of curling up with a book before the fire, you know, being all peaceful like, but omg yay campfire! She made a quick handwavy run into town and grabbed a couple bags of marshmallows, and after another fifteen minutes or so, she found a few good sticks.

So there she sat, roasting marshmallow after marshmallow. "Oh my gosh, sticky little devils..." She only wished now she would have gotten chocolate bars and grahams. Man.

[It's open and stuff, yep!]

Jaina hadn't really had the concept of summer that most people had. There hadn't ever been a break from school for her, and half the time she'd be on a different planet that wouldn't even have proper summer weather. But not having classes till later in the week certainly helped with the summer feel, so that was why Jaina was starting a campfire, and wondering if she should have gotten marshmallows or something first. Oops.

[Open! It's my day off, I am enjoying it, dammit.]

Dean had spent most of the day just hanging out, with a side trip to the library to make sure his geek of a brother remembered to eat lunch. Now that it was dusk, he was taking advantage of the camping and had started a fire in the cabin's firepit. He had marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate, yes, but he also had weiners and hot dog buns. In other words a full meal that can be cooked on sticks over flames.

The basics sometimes were the best.

[ooc: open like an open thing. now with campfire food to share!]

After Demyx and Naminé disappeared, Sora had been avoiding people but with everyone moved into the cabins and classes starting again, he couldn't really do that anymore.

He had to think on the brightside anyways there was always a chance that he'd see them again!! His world was funny like that at times.

Sora was happily poking at the capefire outside with fish roasting on sticks like he would do back on the beach at home. It really made it feel like summer for him.

[Open of course!]

Gladys had lit a campfire. She didn't get cold -- even if she did, it was probably too warm to need one -- nor did she eat or drink, so it wasn't really of any use to her.

But there was a spot for a fire to be made, and so she had made a fire. It was her first (golems being known more for putting them out than for lighting them), which meant she was learning how to make it better.

Of course, she was doing this by reaching into the flames, rearranging the burning logs, then observing the fire to see if it was made better or worse. Hands in the fire, she regarded it seriously.

[ooc: Of course it's open! Of course there's a pun!]
